The Internet.

Well, I think it would be innapropiate to not have the internet
in this day age. A lot of people practically live off it. We need it
for millions of reasons;;
It can futher a child education
Gives us knowledge
Access to communities
News headlines. Not everyone watches the television.
I can think of a million more things, but that will take up
the whole 500 pages x44875398623.

In this day and age, we would be lost without it.

So well without internet , well we couldnt inmagine it i guess. Virtualy our world runs on it. Evrey company is connected to it and makes their payments, etc. So if we wouldnt have it it would be realy akward.

i think kids under 10 should be blocked on the internet unless they have parental guidance. like a 10 year old joins myspace and their so gullible, once they have a friend, they tell them everything about them. then their friend is a sexual predator, and takes advantage of them, and finds them to rape their ass. so there should be a law

ummm the internet... well the internet is very helpfull mostly all the time....
but then again it could be dangerios at the same time...

Another reason kids under 10 should be banned from the computer is addiction. Im addicted to the internet (admitting it, yes.) cause Ive been on it for...since I was like 7 or 8....lmaooo

Anyhow the net is dangerous even if you dont tell anyone anything important...people with the right equipment can still find out where you live (where you logged onto the computer from) etc. etc.

Yes, those sites are bad, but that is why they have the thing telling you you have to be over 18 ect, and you have to agree.
The way I see it, if the kid can read, they know that by clicking on that agreement thing, they are going to be shown something inapropiate.

Is it good?, Is it bad?.

There are all sorts of websites that children should not be exposed to, in addition to pornography. Graphic photos, violent videos, profanity, sites about crimes, racism, hate, internet predators, identiity theives, etc. Parents should be responsible and watch their children on the internet. I'm tired of reading about young teens that foolishly gave out their addresses online and were abducted / raped / murdered. I'm also sick of students threatening and bullying each other on MySpace. This could be prevented if the parents would take a more active role in protecting their kids while online.

>No. I have been using a computer since I was five. They are in our schools. They can be used as wonderful teaching tools. Teaching responsibility online is always key.

> Impossible. If a business uses a computer to set up a shop on the internet, then by effect, we are using the computer to shop at their store. You cannot separate business and personal use, in that respect.

I have. My cousins are on MySpace and they are UNDER 10. But according to their profile, they're 14. Anyone can lie because on the internet, you're invisible.

I don't understand why the government should have a role in regulating the internet. Parents should be the pivotal censor of all things in their child's life. In that situation, there's no one else at fault. It's just easier to blame that void you know as the internet rather than someone closer to home.

ya. also ten year olds shouldn't be on myspace or facebook because there a lot of middle school(on myspace mostly) high school, and college kids on it. they might get harrased. i think internet is good because if we had no internet we'd have no INO.

little kids just want to feel more grown up i guees. my little sister has a myspace. she's had once i think since about 5th grade. i see no point in children having a myspace, or if they are, on INO.

being harrased, as bad as this sound, would be the childs or the parentss fault. they should be monitoring their kids. if they were, there would be a smaller amount of children being molested/harrased because of the internet.

[[onanothernote]] the internet could be considered good or bad. i mean, i am seriously thankful that we do have the internet. think of all the things you could not do without the internet. you could nto have this, people from all over the world communicating through poetry, writing, or even having meaningful discussions. nor could we have easy acess to find out the temperature, the weather, or even what's going on in the world. yes, that's what television is for. but having the internet is more convenient.

the bad side of all of it is it's easier for predators to locate people and to harrass people. somethign we are trying to prevent. but don't you think it makes it kind of hard to do so with the kind of technology we have today?

it was made to be used as a helpful tool, that could possible save lives or whatever, but we've turned it into something, explioting it, using it as something it was never meant to be, like filling needs(sexually), ingraining alot of bad things that potentially don't really need to be there

i think the internet is good. honestly i don't know what i would do without internet. we need it for school and i think it's great that we can have sites (like this one) where you can actually be yourself knowing that no one will judge you because you don't know anyone. and you can open up and tell your true opinion on things, not your "carefully edited for my friends" version. maybe their should be an age that you should be allowed to have access to the whole internet, but our society revovles around technology and internet. it's like a whole nother world and no one should be left out of it. it's great. yay internet!
