Hee hee... I got some cash too, so I finally bit the bullet and got the tattoo that I've been talking about getting for months. It's my Christmas present to me. It's perfect. I love it.
UPLOAD. I must see it.

I will post a photo in a few days. Right now it's red and I tried to take a photo but it comes out weird, because I have to keep the goopy stuff on it to keep it moist. Plus since it's brand-spankin', it looks kinda fake. But it's real. And real itchy, at the moment.

Oh, sorry, I should have told you. It's "awake & unafraid" in a thin script on my left ankle. In a way I feel silly because it's kinda MCR-related, but it's more about how that line made me feel. It helped me to get rid of a lot of shit in my life and helped me to move on. It's a whole long story but suffice to say that I was letting a lot of my past affect me in ways it shouldn't. This is my way of saying it's okay to let go and move on.

Why would that be silly? I plan on including a nod to MCR in mine too.

Well, Deb, you out of everyone here probably knows a little more of my backstory than the others from our PMs back and forth. I guess maybe it's just because when I explain what it means I have to explain that it's a lyric from a song, and people are like, "songs don't stay popular forever." It's like I have to justify it. I'm not ashamed of it, but some people don't understand the healing powers that music can have.

You know, I shouldn't feel silly. You're right. Yes, it's an MCR lyric. But without them, that song, and seeing them play it live, I might not have had the strength to completely let it go. My husband has even commented that I am sleeping more soundly, that I haven't had nightmares in months and I'm not as angry when I talk to my birthmom. When I heard Gerard sing that live it changed me. What was silly was letting people who hurt me before continue to hurt me now.

Deb, I want to see what you're getting. I bet yours has a lot of sentiment behind it as well.

um.... i'm new here and i just wanted to say that i totally agree with what you guys were saying at the beggining of this thread.
i hate it when people try to disect what the band members do and turn it into these stupid rumors about all kinds of shit. let them live thier lives people. Everyone makes mistakes, the and members arn't gods, they're just humans like us. to quote Deb's signature, LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE!!
that's all i really have to say... l8r g8rs

You all know how much I despise buzznet and avoid it like the plague, but someone linked me to this and I had to repost it here, where it will get the most appreciation:

For anyone who stuck by My Chemical Romance even when they were called emo for it.

For anyone who loves Gerard no matter what colour his hair was.

For anyone who loves that Pansy Frank and was worried when he got sick.

For anyone who has ever fantasied about playing with Ray's hair.

For anyone who got worried when Bob got burnt.

For anyone who cried every single time Gerard got drunk or high.

For anyone who bought MCR's new album the very second they could and protect it with their lives.

For anyone who can't watch The Ghost Of You without crying when Mikey gets shot.

For anyone who isn't okay.

For anyone who loves My Chemical Romance with ALL of their black little hearts.

For anyone who didn't just listen to their music, but their lyrics too.

For anyone who thinks they'll die alone.

For anyone who wanted to jump up on stage just to give them hugs.

For anyone who wanted to meet them just to say 'Thank you'

For anyone who wanted them for their advice, not their money

For anyone who wants to say 'I love you' without any remorse.

For anyone who is sick of having their heart broken, or getting hurt.

For anyone who can honestly say that MCR saved their lives.

For anyone who gets exited when someone says "Gerard, Frankie, Bob, Mikey, or Ray."

For anyone who gets exited when someone says "My Chemical Romance or MCR."

For anyone who says I am My Chemical Romance with pride, and with honesty

For anyone who will repost this, and actually take the time.

For anyone who has had a relative say, "Please no more MCR today!"

For anyone who gets excited/ hyper when they see a random person wearing an MCR shirt down town.

For anyone who will go across the country to see a My Chemical Romance Concert.

For anyone who really listens to them.

For every one who don't know where they'd be with out them,

For anyone who loves them with all their black little hearts

For every one whos lives changed the moment they heard one song

For every one who would hold a funeral procession at school if MCR broke up

THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

I'm planning to get lyrics for my first tattoo... I have to wait several years. But the lyrics I choose are ones that help me. They're not just lyrics, you know what i mean? I'm going to get " I will avenge my ghosts wtth every breath I take" Those lyrics aren't just lyrics to me. They speak to me. They help me. They aren't JUST lyrics.

^^ See, you guys understand it. It's not just a lyric -- it's a moment in time that changed my life. The guy who did my tattoo asked me what it meant, and I told him, and it turned out his sister had a lot of the same things happen to her and had a lot of the same issues as I have had. He said he wished that she had something like that to help her and that he thought it was awesome that my tat has meaning behind it. Too many people just get some random thing that they think is "cool" without really caring what it means. To me, if you're going to decorate your body with something, it should be something with meaning.

Deb, that repost was awesome. Thank you for sharing it. It made my day.

Exactly! I was watching the Amazing Race, and one of the tasks was to get a tattoo. I was at first like, " I'd do that" but then they said "It has to be two f's."
I would never let someone choose my tattoo! My tattoo's are going to be special tattoos that i picked cause they mean something special to me. Not cause i might win a million bucks if i get it.

I have an "Awake and Unafraid" tattoo Tab! Mine is round my wrist, and I think I sort of explained the story of it earlier, but sometimes now if I feel low, all i have to do is look at it to remind me never to be afraid or controlled again.

When I told the story to the tattooist, he says the same to me about being so glad the my tattoo was so full of meaning for me. He said too many people get stars/something random and don't think about what it means for the rest of their life.

I'm really glad you got it though Tab, especially if it is so meaningful to you. I found mine an incredibly cleansing experience, and I hope you find yours continues to help and advise you like mine does.

And hey guys!! Hope everyone had an aweseome Yule/Christmas? I got lots of CDs and books and comics yay! And Guitar Hero III for the wii....so at the moment, no-one will leave my house!

Love the sound of that tattoo, and it's so much better that it means something to you. That repost was nice, reminds me why MCR fans are some of the most devoted there are.

I'd love to get a tattoo, if I could ever ever overcome my fear of needles that is. I know I want it on my left wrist but I don't know what I would want. Smile It's going to be there for a long time so I would want one that will mean something to me for the rest of my life. I can't wait for needles to stop squicking me .

Hope everyone's having a great day. I'm watching Alvin and the Chipmunks this evening, Woot!

That was the tattoo that I was thinking of getting. I will probably get lyrics from MCR that had a great effect on me... which is really hard cause a ton of them have... and probably something from A7X as well.

I just gotta say that this thread was a great idea cause I'm sick of people hating on MCR.
