| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | Hmmm about Skittles... (Lol, more sentences should start that way) Are they vegetarian? I'm vegetarian and someone told me I could eat them, but i've not put it to the test yet. As for being vegan, I have noo idea. I like the positivity in this thread! It's a nice rufuge for people who don't want to bash a band, they supposedly love. Human's confuse me alot of the time. I was listening to live audios of MCR last night, very very late, and they made my heartt beat increase and actually made me smile. If a band's music can have this affect on me then I will be eternally grateful to the artists for creating it. xxx |
| little monster. Full of Ephedrine Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 40962 | I have some experience with shipping. I have done it in film and tv show fandoms. I can tell you there is nothing wrong with the name Ger-Z. It's like Skate (sawyer&kate) and sparrabeth (jack&elizabeth). please do not get me wrong, I know this is not a tv show or a movie. I just want to explain that what these names do is not imply that two people are the same person. It is more of a way to indicate a relationship between two people, mostly. |
| Pixie-Gates Awake and Unafraid Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 13231 | People are forever putting couple's names together, especially when they're high profile. Hence Bennifer and Brangelina. Ger-Z are a "high-profile" couple in our circles, I suppose, so I don't see any problem with putting their names together. It sounds cute. ![]() |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | ^^ Fair enough, I guess. It must just be me then. That happens sometimes. |
| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | Nah it's not just you psychochip. I'm a bit iffy on the subject myself. It's just a part of the fandom. But if people were doing that about me, I would feel like it was stripping me of my individuality a little. My friends do it with a couple we know, and they are pished about it... We call them Delen. Although they always speak as "We", so they inspired it themselves. Combining names is usually a very fandom/ media things to do, I suppose it does simplify things in some ways. Totally random and pointless but... I am drinking out of my MCR mug right now and tea just tastes better. xxx |
| Pixie-Gates Awake and Unafraid Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 13231 | MCR mug? Tell me more.To each their own on the "Ger-Z" thing...I just think it saves time on writing out their names. Yes, I know, pretty sad excuse, but what can you do?! |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | I don't know if they have them where you are, but there are some pottery places where they have naked bisque that you can glaze however you wish. You could make an MCR mug, if you were so inclined. Ours is called Joe Picasso's. I didn't make an MCR mug, but I made an awesome turtle bank for my fake dad for Christmas, and a good friend of mine made me an abstract mug for Christmas, and I made her a dragon bank for her son for Hanukkah. (I'm Christian, she's Jewish, so we exchange gifts and name them for the holiday we each celebrate. It works.) |
| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | My best friend got a work colleague to make me two mugs for Christmas. He scalpelled out the MCR logo onto Acrylic and stuck it onto a mug for me, and he wrote my name in the same font on the other side. Edit: Damn I managed to go into a 'Gerard's Just Human' rant on "Old Gerard or New Gerard" I promised myself I wouldn't as well. *grumble* It was a few posts as well. Why do I let myself get so invloved in things? Gah! Okay I really need to go to bed it is 4:38am. xxx |
| kid from yesterday. Bleeding on the Floor Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1265 | This is random. But I was on LJ and someone posted a couple of old quotes that was meant to keep us grounded and not think of ourselves better than anyone else. And it just smacked me in the face, just a little, this time even though I've read it countless of times before. xD “If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about.” "Anyway what i want to say to you guys, remember what got you into this music, be it punk rock, be it hardcore, whatever you call it. Remember when you put your favorite band's t shirt on, and went to that show, just remember that you didn't know anyone, you didn't know half the lyrics, you're a fucking poser just like everyone else, just like me, just like everyone on stage. Just because you think you know more about music, doesn't make anyone less important. Always take that with you, remember that, for every show you get to." It's all about the music - or at least, it should be. But people are still letting other things affect what they think of the music. And it's sad. And I know this is random, so sorry if I I got off-topic and stuff. But I just read it, and I'm sure the people here will appreciate it more than those in um, other argument-ridden threads. (: |

| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | keve'sLadyofSorrows: Um, yep, done with those threads. They are just turning into one big angry mess. I am all about people having free speech (Hero works a lot with the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, so First Amendment rights are yet another thing I am passionate about) but I can't stand it when people fight rather than agree to disagree. I have my belief and will stand by it, but I will not turn it into unnecessary debate and subject myself to attacks. endof. I too would like to see a picture of the almighty mug! It sounds awesome. |
| little monster. Full of Ephedrine Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 40962 | I'm still not ranting.. it's hard though.. |
| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | JaysTrblMkr: I will as soon as I get my camera connected to this computer. About the "Arguey Threads" I wandered in to just post my opinion, a nice non 'feather ruffly' post and then I got quoted... I HAD to respond, I suppose I'm just a glutton for punishment. I'm always too positive for other fandoms i'm in as well. Why is it now fashionable to hate the thing you used to like? I'm coming across it more and more on the internet. *Wanders off to try and work camera.* |
| The Original Bob. Demolition Lover Age: 26 Gender: Female Posts: 16672 | Green Faerie: Yes, post a nice piccy for us, pwease! and the "arguey threads"? Welll, i posted on teh has Gerard Changed Thread cause it pissed me off that they even cared. I wish I hadn't, though. I feel so...dirty now. |
| Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | Green Faerie:haha that's pretty much what's been happening to me too. LOL you yelled at her to quote you in pink. And yeah, I've noticed that. Being contrary has become chic. |
| x..touching_hands..x Really Not Okay Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 730 | It's just because there's this obsession at the moment about things that are "popular" - if it is popular, it can't really be good. That seems to be the mentality. I have to say, I don't really get it, but that's what I keep hearing....it just doesn't make any sense to me. Surely it doesn't matter how popular/unpopular it is if YOU like it? Or am I, in fact, going mad?! Oh, the mug sounds awesome by the way...can't wait to see a pic! |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | ^^ I don't really think it's so much an obsession "at the moment" -- I think it's always been like that. People have always flocked to the negative about what is supposedly "popular" because it's the "cool" thing to do. Unfortunately there are more outlets for it now. Hence the Britney Spears train wreck. And that horrid thread. I'm lurking it for shits and giggles but I'm done posting. I vote that we try to make a movement where we actually say NICE things about the people we like. Oh wait! We already did with this lovely thread! Hugs for Deb! |
