I shall lurk in the negative threads, because it's like some kind of compulsion, but I can't post again, I won't do it to myself (Although I find it really hard to resist) I feel like anything I say is getting thrown against me, with force! But I must applaud Deb, because you are holding the postive side afloat in that debate! Lol, It just feels so angry in there! And I feel that handing out cookies won't help to raise the positivity in there. Anyway! Enough with Gee defence. I am postive and I shall remain positive! *smiles*

MCR make so much wonderful music, just their music has been enough to improve my quality of life. I am so grateful to the band for creating it. All the guys deserve to be appreciated for it!

Okay here's my lovely Xmas mug, it's not perfect, but the writing was carved out by hand with a scalpel so I love my friends for doing that. Smile

What do you think would happen to me if I wandered into the Old/New Gerard thread and posted something like If I were Gerard and had fans like these, I wouldn't be surprised if I turned into an asshole.

Question Bad idea.

I've got to stop lurking it!

That mug is deadly! xD

If you post anything people are going to react. I think blaming ourselves for his actions is silly. I've thought that too but then a little voice in the back of my head always says: "All the discord and strife that this fanbase has had in the past 4 months can be traced back to the actions of two people: Loveman and Gerard Way."

Sure I'll bet when he looks into the crowd he's performing and sees nothing but screaming teenies he feels disillusioned but all he needs is a few mouse clicks on the internet to find that things aren't going well with us and a few words of reassurance from him would go a long way. Instead he's only given Verita and the other spin-doctors more ammo to use against him and further their own aims.

I think people can't adjust to seeing him so open and vocal about his relationship. Seriously, all of this seems to have started with Eliza. I just don't see why everyone's getting so worked up about something over which they have no control, and which I doubt Gerard himself is losing sleep over. They should take a leaf out of his book and move on with their lives.

But this is the positive thread! Therefore I'll spread some love: In Love

At least you're not on Mayo's blog.
Confession: I spent an hour and a half lurking there once. Most of the people are really nice but a few ruin it for everyone. I tried making an account even but some people there are really bitchy and suspicious of newcomers. Otherwise it's very similar to INO although nobody would ever admit it.

By the way, just want to point out to all (if any) of the INO-pians who were trolling there (it could've been just buzznet people, idk), one of you kept calling a really nice girl a whore and if you're reading this, I hope you go to a place where all you can listen to is corny Christmas music and every computer only has dial up aka hell.

Fricken amazing mug up there....seriously, I let out a little bit of wee... Very Happy

I am trying (and at present succeeding) in staying away from the negative threads...I don't have to worry about it if I don't see it, and if other people want to spend their time with it fine, but I have more important things to do (ie watching my housemate get his ass handed to him by Sephiroth at present Smile ) and would rather bask in the joy that is this homely thread - boys, we love you!

Tab - have you read 100 Bullets?

I have never even properly read any of the blogs. I've only ever glanced at them when a link is provided. I was watching LOTMS at 5am (On my iPod! Thanks again to Deb for the link!) and whenever I watch that DVD it always reminds me how much I really love the whole band, they are just fantastic. I feel like lurking in the "Arguey threads" is a bit like watching a soap opera, unsavoury but compelling. I really really keep wanting to defend people in their who I feel are getting victimised or backed into a corner. But I KNOW that it won't help.

Lol! This board seems like some kind of refuge in wartime... *Puts GOY Vid on*

Thanks to everyone's lovely comments about my mug! Lol... *Runs to make a cup of tea*

Loz -- I've seen 100 Bullets around, but never picked it up. I like the idea of the series (100 untraceable bullets and the ability to exact revenge on someone who has wronged you, or just let it go -- for those of you non-comic fans who may be wondering what we are talking about) It always seems I have something else to read, or they're missing an issue. I know, I know, I could TPB, but I haven't. Am I to assume you likey? (Brian Azzarello is going to be at FX at the end of the month. Lemme know if you want a signed book or anything.)

Fables has been my favorite Vertigo title so far. As for other stuff: It was awesome to take hubby to Constantine and tell him afterwards it was a comic book movie. Then of course the Sandman books, V for Vendetta, and Doom Patrol. Good times.

At the moment, however, I'm working my way through the Top Shelf library. They have some absolutely amazing stuff. It's fascinating.

V for Vendetta and Constantine are both favourites of mine. I just started on 100 Bullets and i was amazed (and slightly ashamed) i was able to avoid it for so long! It is seriously worming it's way into my favourites right now.

Reccomendations from Top Shelf?

Best of Top Shelf (so far, and this goes for everyone, not just Loz)

Owly by Andy Runton (shameless plug for a dear friend, but it really is excellent)
Zig Zag #1 by J. Chris Campbell (another shameless plug, but the cover is adorable, and the book is quite charming)
American Elf and Super F*ckers by James Kolchalka (these are both fun)
Korgi by Christian Slade (amazing art, simply gorgeous.)
The Barefoot Serpent by Scott Morse (I give this book, along with The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, to anyone who loses someone dear to them. It's simple, yet eloquent.)
The Surrogates by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele (get into this now before it explodes, they just signed a movie deal with Bruce Willis to star, so it's going to be popular, so read it now so you can be the asshole snooty comic fan in the theater complaining about how the book was better, plus, Robert is a darling and deserves all good things.)
Blankets by Craig Thompson (run, don't walk, to read this. It's gorgeous. Also, his Goodbye, Chunky Rice is very good)
Will You Still Love Me If I Wet The Bed? by Liz Prince (fun little snippets)
Lost Girls by Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie (this one is definitely an adults-only title, but it is beautifully done)

Oh, and we are about 1/4 of the way through a great anime series called Ergo Proxy. I'm really, really enjoying it. Loz, if you haven't seen it, I recommend it highly. It's been great so far.

Ah, Netflix. Making anime addiction affordable.

Also, Loz, check out the FX Show site and MegaCon site and let me know if there's anyone else you'd fancy a signed book from. I'm working/attending both. (FX I'm working an exhibitor booth 2 of the 3 days as a favor to a friend of the guy who runs the store -- it's convoluted, but they pay in comics. MegaCon is HI stuff all 3 days.)

Oy - haven't been in a while *smiles guiltily*. Soooo HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! My new years resolution this year was to not have any new years resolutions.

My boyfriend treated me to a great holiday at the four star hotel at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg - nice to be spoilt and treated like a VIP! Gold Reef City is like a theme park from the Gold Rush times here in Johannesburg and it was alot of fun walking around THE WHOLE DAY in 34 degrees Celsius. We watched the people on the crazy ass rides and got sunburnt. The next day we went to Johannesburg Zoo which is huge and we almost died....again. While there we saw people driving around in golf carts and at the end of the day we saw that we missed the place where they rent them out .... hilarious. Oh and a bee fell in love with me and followed me around.... I did the raindance and he just stuck to my head for like 15 minutes. I think it had something to do with the perfume I tried on earlier that morning. People were laughing and I think the Polar bear was amused too. A peacock also seriously flirted with me giving alot of people great photo ops. And a camel tried to kiss me and followed me around his enclosure - once again giving everyone a great photo op! We walked in groups so when we couldnt see the tiger this one guy said that maybe I should go sit in front of the window and he will come out. Great I felt like doctor Doolittle.

New Years eve was one of the hottest nights it was like hell where we were. This one band that my boyfriend plays bass for played at this party/dance and I was obliged to go with the family and the venue was like an oven. We took a fan but it didn't work. I went home just after 12 because of those "damnpeoplewiththeirdamnedfireworks" My dogs were going nuts trying to break down the door so when I got home I had to battle them to get outside and sit with them feeding them comfort food and playing with the frisbee in my nighties at 1 in the morning. Then I went to bed and had to submit to being eaten and attacked by the cat until my boyfriend finished playing at 2. By that time all the birds have woken up because of the noise and the lights in the house and were chatting and calling away. Me and my damned animals!

So now I am back at work... meh and it already feels like I was never away!

Oh and bleh! to all the nasties out there who just argue for the sake of being nasty. I love a good discussion as much as anyone but there is no need to resort to bullying and ugliness...ever.

Love you guys in this thread! Oh and congrats on the great tattoo Psycochip In Love
