Heehee...I leave the meat for last cause it's the best part, there's not too many veggies I don't like! Yep, I'm REALLY weird! If I didn't like meat so much, I'd be a great vegetarien! LOL

Lol, I'm the opposite, i'm a vegetarian who doesn't like many vegetables. : )

I read the new Princess Diaries book last night (Nothing wrong with it! Lol, I don't need to be 13!) They mentioned MCR and called them emo, and I felt the need to climb into the book and debate with the character, but alas that is impossible, Lmao.

It was left to me to organise the plans for the kids club I work at, and I think they may regret it. Smile Everything this week and next week is going to revolve around fairy tales and disney. It's kind of sad that I am bringing my own stuff (Books, DVD's, board games) For the occasion, Hehe.

Okay, I'm thinking we may have a little English oddity going on here...

Doctors do tattoos in Ireland? Bad ass. Here in the US we have the skeezy tattoo guys. Well, they aren't all skeezy, but they're just normal folks with apprenticeships and credentials. Certainly not doctors, by any stretch of the imagination. I'm sure they have like Bloodborne Pathogens training, but crap, I've got that, and I just work with kids. I don't tattoo people for a living.

And 80 Euros/pounds for a tat? (sorry, my American keyboard doesn't have a Euros/pounds symbol, only a $) Pricey. Ouch. Mine was $70, that's with tip. Dollars to Euros/pounds, with the dollar being so weak right now, that would be like half that. Eep. I guess when they're doctors, they can charge a little more, eh? Or am I missing something?

And just out of curiosity, can you spell out the phonetic pronunciation of Gerard in Irish? Gerard Butler (who I also adore, and mentioned above) is Scottish, but I've never heard him say his name, only Jerry. So now my interest is piqued as to how they say it across the pond. (and maybe I should add that the name Gerard is not common in the US. I always forget this is an international board.)

Ooh, no doctors don't do tattoos here! Sorry, I'm after making myself sound like a complete tit now. rolling on floor I need a doctor's note and an antibiotic whenever I get anything done, like piercings or tattoos, or even dental work, cos I have a heart problem. But happy healthy people can walk right into the tattoo parlour and get it done. Yes We have inked tattoo artists too, and my preferred one is a girl with green dreadlocks. Very Happy

Everything is expensive in Ireland. If ever you come here, bring a lot of money. We're known as the "Rip Off Republic" for a reason. Disgust

Hmm...Gerard is pronounced Ger-erdh. If that makes sense. We don't put emphasis on the second syllable, like the way Gee says it, i.e. Ger-rard. We say it as though it were one syllable...

OK, that was no help at all, whenever I make my WAYT shout out I'll say it the way we say it in Ireland and PM it to you! Smile

I spent half my school day writing the lyrics down on a piece of paper in different coloured gel pens, and that paper is now with me always. Tehe I do love that song. I'm going to get a tattoo around my upper arm... or my lower leg... that says I Will Avenge My Ghosts With Every Breath I Take.[

Best MCR lyrics ever come from that song:

Just you and I
Your starless eyes
Remain

Not to mention the beautiful

I've lost my fear of falling
I will be with you.

I always feel like the last verse, from When you go... right to the end, is one I could sing to the boys. It makes so much sense with everyone losing faith these days.

When you go
Just know that I will remember you
If living was the hardest part
We'll then one day be together
And in the end we'll fall apart
Just like the leaves change in colors
And then I will be with you
I will be there one last time now

when you go
just know that I will remember you

I lost my fear of falling
I will be with you
I will be with you

I cried the first time I heard that. It's just so beautiful. To me, it's full of hope and promise, and most of all acceptance. It's someone laying their heart on the line, swearing to be with you always.

It has been my favorite MCR song from the minute I heard it. Like obsession level. Over 200 plays on iTunes. In Love

It's my comfort song... when i'm just pissed. My real suicidally depressed and screwed comfort song is FLW. But Deathwish is my other comfort song. I will get lyrics from it tattoed on my shoulder. (I Will Avenge My Ghosts With Every Breath I Take).

I spend hours writing the lyrics on everything I own... I love Deathwish. In Love

FLW changed my life, and is probably my #2 favorite, and I have lyrics from it tattooed on my ankle (you saw the photo) and may get "I am not afraid to keep on living" on the other ankle someday. But Deathwish still takes the cake as favorite. There's just something about it that comforts me, it's just so beautiful.

Deathwish is a beautiful song. FLW isn't my fav song... it just helps me so much! FLW is actually fairly far down the list of fav songs. FLW is just one of the songs that helps me get through every day and not just fade away and die. Deathwish... Deathwish is very close to fav MCR song. My fav is probably... gawd thats hard. Maybe... I guess it is Deathwish. Very Happy

In terms of sheer lyrical and musical beauty, I'd have to say Deathwish, I Never Told You What I Do For A Living, Demolition Lovers and Drowning Lessons are my favourite. Deathwish and Drowning Lessons have a stronger emotional impact on me than any other MCR song I've ever heard. They affect me so much that it's hard not to cry when listening to them. I even have a perfect acoustic version of Drowning Lessons in my head. Smile

I find Cancer heart-rendingly gorgeous too, and Famous Last Words one of their most rousing. It just makes me want to scream at the top of my lungs with passion and resolve, and I adore it when songs can have such a profound impact as that.

It's nigh impossible for me to pick a favourite MCR song. I'd have to cite the entire Revenge album as a block, with Deathwish, Helena, and Living as standouts. The final verse from the latter is another of Gerard's special triumphs.

And we'll love again
We'll laugh again
We'll cry again
And we'll dance again

And it's better off this way, so much better off this way
I can't clean the blood off the sheets in my bed

Well never again, and never again
They gave us two shots to the back of the head
And we're all dead now...

THAT is how an album is supposed to end. I always find myself captivated as that song draws to a close.

Of course, Drowning Lessons, Demolition Lovers, and Our Lady of Sorrows form part of my favourites too.

You see how hard this is for me?! Laughing MCR really do own my soul.

PS Hang 'Em High and To The End for most underrated MCR songs ever, anyone? Shifty

^^ I'll throw in a vote for "Hang 'Em High". That song gets overlooked far too often, and even I forget about good "Drowning Lessons" is -- it'll come through my iPod playlist and I'll stop for a minute and be like, "Oh, yeah! This song is great!", crank it up, and just let myself be immersed in it. And I completely agree about "I Never Told You What I Did For A Living" - it is a masterpiece and a perfect ending for the album. It's depressing yet exhilarating all at once.

Thanks for the clarification, Pixie. I knew I had to be reading something wrong there. I'd just never heard of anyone needing a doctor's note for a tattoo before. Parental permission under 18, yes, but not a doctor's note. So see? I learned something today.

And I also gave in and posted one last time on the icky board. I couldn't help it. The way some people are wording their posts are making the incident out to be far more than it was, and it's not fair to Gerard that he should have to take so much shit for something that wasn't as big of a deal as people have made it out to be. I'll admit he said something stupid, but haven't we all?

*Headdesk* me too, But I really swear this is my last time! Smile It is like some horrible compulsion.

About deathwish, I never properly bonded with the song until one day I was sat listening to it and the line "I lost my fear of falling, I will be with you" really really spoke to me for the first time. It is a really nice song, I feel the need to run and put it on.

I won't quote my favourite lyrics and songs, because the list is pretty endless, but i've put it in my profile if anyone is feeling nosy. Hehe. I think that MCR raises the bar on amazing lyrics, hence why I have so many favourites. Smile
