One of the songs I LOVE to death, but doesn't seem to get much hype is "Disenchanted". It's really an amazing song and I connect with the lyrics so much. When I bought the album and listened to the song I just cried so much, it was so beautiful. My chemical Romance seems to be the only band that can make me feel this way.

Pixie-Gates:

Deathwish sends seriously epic chills down my spine. Love it so so so much, and have the lyrics stuck on my wall. In Love

I like Deathwish too. Three cool things about Deathwish:
1. The first line from it is from a comic book thereby proving how much of a dork Gerard is.
2. It has no chorus whatsoever (neither does This Is The Best Day Ever)
3. Gerard apparently wrote it before the band was formed.

I love Disenchanted too, it's so sad yet so beautiful at the same time. I listened to it on my way home flying from Japan and now, whenever I have trouble sleeping, I play it. What I want to know is what prompted them to write such a depressing song. Crying or Very sad

Completely off topic from the current conversation, but I'm being published! It's just an article I was asked to write for my "dad's" fanzine, but it's pretty cool. (He has a fanzine published quarterly or so that talks about his artwork, what he's up to, and they put in older art, photos, and other treasures. It's a pretty neat little book) I couldn't think of a name for the article, so he named it "A View From The Front Lines" so I tongue-in-cheek added "the only place I can see more than shoulders" but they put that too. That makes me giggle. Conventions, outside of the HI booth, are usually a blur of shoulders of people way taller than me. 5'3" sucks. (although, one of the photos in the article are from a Freshmen signing, since he did the cover to Freshmen #1, he gave the original art to Seth Green, so I'm next to Seth, who is exactly my height. Then there's George like a foot over us. D'oh.)

My part ended up being 4 pages long with the photos. We got the layout pdfs yesterday for review and my article looks awesome. I'm not sure what the publication date is, but if anyone's interested, let me know and I'll let you know when they set it.

That sounds really cool! Hehe. It sounds really interesting, nothing interesting ever happens in my life, Lol. I tried not to squee to Seth Green's name, I am a 'Verging on Lame level' Buffy geek. Smile

Talking of Disenchanted i'm listening to it now, Smile Coincidence, I think it's a really meaningful song, and it always makes me want to be quiet, makes me think alot.

Oh my Goth, I forgot all about Disenchanted. I adore that song. It's so powerful and resonant the lyrics make so much sense in light of the current divisions in the fanbase. I find the song makes me really nostalgic too, as it takes me back to the early Revenge era when everything was new and exciting and innocent and there was so much promise with none of the hype. It reminds me of when MCR were "my" band, my little secret, before they became the darling of the whole rock world. *le sigh*

Disenchanted is a triumph for the band, and I love the yearning emotion displayed throughout. I think it was written to remind the fans to have faith, yet Gerard sounds so resigned when he sings You're just a sad song, with nothing to say that it almost breaks my heart. I just want to hug the whole band and promise them I'll always be here for them, and keep the faith.

Ah! I knew I'd something else to say!

Bert says "Gerard" the way we do in LOTMS. At the part where someone asks him, Who's your favourite member of My Chemical Romance?, he replies The singer, and then a few minutes later, Gerard. That's how we say it...possibly the way Americans say "Jared"? Question

Disenchanted is probably my all time / one of my all favorites. I agree too that To The End gets really overlooked. It was the first MCR song I ever heard, and I love it to pieces.

Deathwish is definately another one of my all time favorites, it's just such a powerful song, particularly the last verse. 'I will avenge my ghost with every breath I take' is also an amazing lyric. And I agree: I Never Told You What I Do For A Living is the perfect way to the end off Revenge. The last few lines 'And never again, never again, they gave us two shots to the back of the head and we're all dead now' is another of my favorite MCR lyrics.

FLW is just such a powerful song, and it means a lot to me, having had a few friends who've been through severe depression and have pulled out of it. It reminds me to keep my head up no matter what happens.

I agree, Gerard may just be the greatest lyricist of his time... hopefully people will recognize that down the road when they get over this whole "emo" thing.

Drowning lessons = awesome. I love how you think it ends, then an amazing guitar part completely unrelated to the rest of the song plays. I do love that.

And yeah, I Never Told You... ends Revenge perfectly. Demoliton Lovers ends Bullets pretty perfectly. Blood... pretty good. Famous Last Words ends TBP well, i need the minute forty or so of silence to recover from Famous Last Words before Blood plays. FLW always makes me emotional. Disenchanted as well... I lie down with the lights off with my eyes closed for that one. Then FLW comes on, and i sing at the top of my lungs, since that song saved my life so much!! I always cry during Cancer, though.

I love how in the Interview with Kerrang!, Gee says his favourite fans are the Make A Wish ones. I think it's awesome that he did a couple Wishes this year. In Love Gee is a very nice guy. It's really wierd to think that he doesn't even know I exist. *sigh* Oh well, i'll meet him someday... I want to meet Bob most though. Tehe

I love that song because it brings back so many memories. I think it was the first time that I was listening to it and I heard "I spent my high school career spit on and shoved to agree, so I could watch all my heroes sell a car on TV" that I thought, holy shit, I'm not the only one who feels this way!

I think that's when I fell in love with the band, because I looked at them like people who had been through a lot of what I had and made it through. It was a connection. It's funny because I get a lot of shit for liking them so much (mainly because their main fanbase is half my age) but if people would take the time to listen to them instead of judge them, they might find the little bits like that, that they throw out to the older fans to say hey, we know you're there.

But then to go from that into Famous Last Words? How can you not adore them after that? Those two songs, back to back, are an emotional ringer. Disenchanted remembers the good and bad times, and Famous Last Words gives you encouragement to keep going.

In Love

I'm having a I-can't-get-over-how-amazing-MCR-are moment right now. <3
And now the lyrics to a Cobra Starship song is stuck in my head because it reminds me of them. xD

Before I met you
I used to dream you up and make you up in my mind
And all I ever wanted was to be understood
You've been the only one who could
I could never turn my back on you
Not long ago, I gave up hope
But you came along
You gave me something I could hold on to.
