| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | )^^^Lmao, I used to do that with my ex's parents. About alot of issues, they were racist, sexist, homophobic... *shudder* It got to a point where I was saying things in front of his dad just to see how he took it. I've heard him say such awful things. The most fun was correcting him every time he made an assumption that was in fact false. Gah! I hate close minded bigots. At one point it nearly came to an all out argument, when he said if he was in combat he would be able to shoot at women and children without thinking about it, if 'bad people' were using them as shields. I think I went incoherant with my response after that. I have never met someone who opposes my opinions as much as that in my life before. |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | The world unfortunately is an intolerant place. For me it's simple, I hate everyone equally. (ha!) Really though, the only people I don't like are the people on my street who blare their radios out of their porches and garages, and people who pull up near me at stoplights with their crappy music up so loud my car shakes. I'm getting old, I like my peace and quiet on the weekends. Oh, and tailgaters, and people who are assholes at the movies. (Shepherd Book knows that those jerks all get to go to the "special hell." ) All of those people can go away and I would not be sad. |

| TaraIsBack! Bleeding on the Floor Age: 42 Gender: Female Posts: 1618 | Wow, you girls really got some stuff going on too. I want to take a moment to do one really big group hug! {{HUGS}} Now, onto the subject of gay people...... At 8 years old, I didn't really know what sex was, let alone what a gay person was. I remember when I found out and it all seemed to weird to me. Men and women kissing people of the same sex. I remember when we thought someone was gay it was a really big deal. Now a days it's like "Oh, well... duh. What makes you thing *that's* so original?" LOL I think that a lot of people are hateful of it because they don't understand it. I'm not gonna lie, it does make me a bit uncomfortable to think about what they do behind closed doors... but then so does what most heterosexual people do too! LOL I think that deep down inside a lot of people are afraid of being hit on by a gay person... don't flatter yourselves, it's not gonna happen LOL But, you know what, so long as you are lucky enough to have true love with someone, it shouldn't matter what sex they are. |
| TaraIsBack! Bleeding on the Floor Age: 42 Gender: Female Posts: 1618 | psychochip: I bet if they blared MCR, you wouldn't be complaining! LOL Come to think of it, I still have yet to come across someone in my town pumping out some MCR... or let alone rock music |
| Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | Hi my lovely ladies <hugs Room> The new song is BEAUTIFUL!!! Have you guys seen Tungchoi's video of it? It's perfect! Damn, I want to run into someone who blasts MCR from their car! LOL I'd probably hop in! I am always saying that, when people blast music someplace (especially adjoining apartments, at 11:30 at night grrrr) "Why can't it be something good at least? Some Zeppelin or something?" Regarding the intolerant persons in one's life thing, you guys wanna hear the opposite? My 95 year old grandmother (the cool one, who thinks G is "pretty as a girl" LOL) back in the 50's worked with a gay man and found herself defending him all the time to everyone. She told me this story for the first time over 25 years ago now. She was like "Everyone was so mean to him! Why? Because he's gay? He was one of the nicest people I ever met!" |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | So I have to change the convo for a minute because I have to share in my joy. I went to an estate sale yesterday and there was a longbox of comics. I asked the lady about it and she said her late son had been a collector but she didn't know much about it, so I could have the box for $10. I tried to persuade her to take more, but she would only take $10. She said "They're only comics." So I handed her $10, smiled sweetly, and put my longbox in the car. I got it home and found amongst the not-so-rares: Several rare Captain Americas The entire run of NYX, including the very rare #3 Retailer only edition of Justice League of America And I just about died when I pulled out a near mint Batman: The Killing Joke. Dude, I have wanted one of those for years. Those comics alone made that box worth about $300. I love it when people who don't know about comics sell them for cheap. |
| DarkMetalAngel Killjoy Age: - Gender: - Posts: 2 | hai! i really hope that gerard reads this!! seriously though, i love the band and the music and i respect them all. that really doesnt tie into fan cause a fan is just obsessive over music and they dont respect the band, and they go to outrageous lengths just to get Gerards email address..i dont care if gerards dating or not cause he saved me even though he didnt know about it and he's not stuck up like other people. he's just a normal person. you dont see ppl trying to get a strangers email but if you did that then you might as well try to get Gerards email cause its just the same.im not suggesting that ppl try to get Gerards email by the way. The things everybody says in that band really make me laugh and i havent laughed until i started listening to the music. |
| Sin Shads Fabulous Killjoy Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 136 | thats true. very true. the fucking shit rumors. ive just had about the shit bout it. |
| Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | ^ It's never going to stop, either. The boys are just too damn alluring. |
| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | psychochip: *Jawdrop* Wow, lucky. I'm just curious as to whether or not you are treasuring them like you would your first born child. I'm sure the guy who they belonged to originally would have wanted them to go to a fellow comic book geek, who could really appreciate them. I was watching some youtube video's last night and I found one of MCR being bottled at an English festival. I cannot describe how annoyed that made me feel. Mostly because I was desperate to be at that festival and couldn't go, and yet these people were there are disrespecting the headliner in such an atrocious way. I can't understand them! If you don't like the music then wander off and go and do something else, don't endanger the band and members of the crowd! And don't waste the money of people who actually bought the ticket mainly to watch a My Chem show. It makes me disapponited to be a 'Rock fan' if this is the group I am a part of. They yell at MCR saying they don't understand 'Real Rock', without realising that this 'Real Rock' is some of the music that inspired MCR to play in the first place. If I was at a festival where that was happening I would not be able to ignore it and stand quietly. So I hope for my sake and the bottle throwers that i'm never in that situation, because I rarely back down from an argument. //Rant over. Sorry Thread. *hugs* To all! |
| Stewie G. Griffin Motor Baby Age: 38 Gender: Female Posts: 865 | ^^ Ah yes, the Download Festival incident. When I watched videos back and I saw what the crowd were doing I was disgusted...Better yet, I was embarrassed. Being English, I was appalled at they crowd and their behaviour! But as always, they boys played 'the slot they were given.' And they played well. Other bands could've pussied out halfway through. But not MCR. In the face of adversity, they persevered! Another reason why I love that band!!! *swoons* That's a pretty decent lucky streak you've got going there, Tab! And on the gay thing, I have plenty of gay and lesbian friends and I will defend them to the ends of the earth. I've stood by and watched people, even my own family, make crude remarks and so on, and I've got into plenty of fights about it. There's fuck all wrong with it! Bottom line is; if you cut us open, we're all pink inside! |
| little monster. Full of Ephedrine Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 40962 | Ah yes, I read about that incident. and then I decided not to look for vids about it. |
| gazelles. Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 566 | Toivoa.: Agreed. It's so beautiful; I can't wait to hear the new record. Eh, I saw a couple videos of them being bottled at Download. It made me laugh because the description of one of the videos was "MCR getting owned at their pathetic attempt to headline a festival." and I was like "yeah... you can tell they got owned by the fact that they're still PLAYING." The bottlers in question were clearly very ignorant people, so it's their loss, I guess. Mind you, it wasn't too bright to have My Chem headline a METAL festival. That's just asking for trouble. |
| tabitha Bleeding on the Floor Age: 43 Gender: Female Posts: 1831 | Bottling *anyone* just isn't cool. It's just ignorant, usually drunken assholes showing their stupidity. I've stuck up for bands I'm not overly fond of at festivals, just because I hate seeing anyone have that happen to them. Some people just don't deserve to have good things. I can show my snobbish side and say it was like the time we were at the ballet and I met up with a woman at intermission and told her that her son (who was inappropriately dressed, among other things) needed to turn off his PSP during the show. It was annoying, it was disrespectful, and why waste $85 on a ballet ticket so the little hellspawn can play video games? I bet he'll grow up to bottle a band someday. However, now that I've reread my lovely gem of a find, The Killing Joke, as an MCR fan, I would love to ask them if they're referencing it at the end of "Dead!" -- knowing that there are other comic allusions in some of their other songs, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. (and Karlie -- I'm not really treating my new treasures like a "firstborn child," but they are being very lovingly reread and appropriated to places of honor on my comic wall in my comic book room.) |

| Person0001 Always Born a Crime Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 5099 | Just wanted to tell the dudes that the new song is beautiful, the Untitled Finale rocks, and I can't wait for the new fucking album. Also wanted to plead mercilessly for some sort of home show please please please? Finally, I read a while back that we haven't been showing proper appreciation for Bullets material. I am here to guarantee you that I will personally will scream my fool head off should you bust out with any of those songs at any show I am at. <waves to lovely thread> Is everyone doing alright today? Love you all to pieces! |
| Pixie-Gates Awake and Unafraid Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 13231 | The New Song.: They played it before that and no one cared. It's just typical metalhead elitism really; can't handle bands who have success outside the underground. *becomes last person on INO to listen to the new song* ![]() |
| Pixie-Gates Awake and Unafraid Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 13231 | Gah, that new song nearly killed me. Only reason I didn't cry is I'm in the library at the moment, surrounded by people! But I'll definitely be blubbing like the loon I am when it arrives on the album. |
| Green Faerie Salute You in Your Grave Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | Pixie-Gates: I agree. They played Download 05, not headlining, and they were received very very well. There's a video of their performance in the MCR Downloads section of this site. People cheered and had fun and I think at one point Gee leant into the crowd whist singing. How can two years create such a difference in the audience? Because MCR had a very successful album? Because they got their first number one in the UK? Why do people begrudge bands success, but feel perfectly content to dance to their music when they're not as popular. Is it the whole 'nonconformist' vibe, "I can't like anything that's 'mainstream'," ? Pfuit, it's not the band that's changed, it's the crowd. And they need to learn to respect people, whether they have issue with a band's music or not. //Sorry for the rant, thread. It's just an issue that's been on my mind a bit. *hugs to thread* xxx |
