Deb, sorry to be a pain, but could you please send all of the new songs to my Sharing Folder so I can put them on my iTunes? I would do what all of you guys do with links et al, but I still have issues with cut and paste.

Thanks, my lovely.

Loz -- As much as I'd like to see the lady get her comeuppance regarding the "worthless comics" -- her son had passed away a few months ago so she was cleaning out a lot of his things. Like Karlie said earlier, maybe he was watching to make sure someone who would appreciate his treasures would find them.
[/quote]

In which case, apologies for a joke in bad taste :S

And I guess it is perfect that they went to someone who will love and appreciate them, rather that them sitting in some loft or back room, which is probably not what he would have wanted.

I actually got a homemade cd of my favourite childrens series for my 19th birthday; Hong Kong Phooey, Fraggle Rock, the freakin Gummi Bears, He-Man...I played that cd non stop in my car for about six months. It drove my friends mad!

On a more serious note, can I implore everyone to take a few seconds to check out some of the memorial websites for Sophie Lancaster. She was a 20 year old girl who got beaten to death while walking home because she was a Goth and therefore "different". Her family and friends have set up a memorial fund S.O.P.H.I.E (Stamp Out Prejudice Hatred and Intolerence Everywhere). Some of my MCR related friends have been running events and raising awareness for the last few months, and we're running a petition to have the law include attacks such as these under hate crime. The link to the petition can be found on the charity's MySpace or Facebook page. Thanks guys. xx

Hey, Loz, no worries, I've been known to read through things too quickly also. Plus, there's that part of me that would have given the box back, if he were still alive and if he had asked for it because it was sold without his knowledge. But as I told Karlie, they are being appreciated, resold (at their current value) for convention monies as appropriate, or put in places of honor on my comic wall. I'm making sure they are well taken care of. Smile

Hubby and I recently watched the Hong Kong Phooey series on DVD, we found it at a Game Stop for $3.99. Not bad. It was a fun trip down memory lane.

Also, we had a similar incident which incited a hate-crime law in the US, it was a young man named Matthew Shepard who was beaten and left for dead (and eventually died) because he was gay. It disgusts me that people can be so intolerant towards people who are "different", I will definitely look up the sites you mentioned.

Debs: THANK YOU for the link! Hail I love Shut Up and Play. I can see a bit more of the band's writing process, having heard that. You see the parts they kept and then hear what they considered "not good enough" to keep, or felt like they needed to tweak. Being that Disenchanted is in my top 5 MCR songs, I love hearing it how it was before and then hearing how it is now. How fun. You are awesome.

And as for old cartoons, I do admit I *never* want to hear the Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers theme song, ever ever again. It was annoying when I watched the show, then I had to pretend that I liked it every time some little hellspawn at Disney would sing it to me when I was portraying Chip or Dale -- of course, since they were all too young to have ever watched the show, all they knew was the obnoxious "Ch-Ch-Ch-CHIP AND DALE! RESCUE RANGERS!" part. As far as I'm concerned, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers is the Superman 3 & 4 of the Disney 'verse -- it's probably best to forget that they ever happened, and make something better and move on.

**I have that album of Saturday Morning Cartoons**

And just so you know, Tara, thanks to you, I'll be going to bed with the Animaniacs theme song going through my head. Hey, I wonder if the DVDs are on Netflix. I wouldn't mind going back through that series.

"wata go down the hoooole! paper go down the hoooole! Wata come back!"

Sublime is like my 2nd all-time favorite band... MCR recently took them out of #1.
And just in case you just got it OUT of your head....

And for the record, I think that anyone who beats another person to death should have to spend the rest of their lives in labs where they perform labs tests on them like rats. Well, ok I think ANYONE who kills another person should, let's not just limit it to beating deaths.
Free the rats and bunnies, they are innocent!

Lol, this will probobly be an unpopular opinion. But I adored Chip and Dale, Hehe, alot. Along with Ducktales (Woo Ooh) and Gummi Bears... and unlike silly children I know the entire theme song off by heart, still. Smile *coughgeekcough* Lol, after re hearing the animaniacs theme, I am positive that MCR NEED to do a cover!

That's just awful about the girl who was killed, it's disgusting. It annoys me how some people can be so evil. A couple of years ago one of my friends was severely beaten up for being a goth, when she was walking back from the supermarket. A gang of girls jumped her. It angers me that people like this are in existence. I will definately be checking out a memorial website. I think these kind of attacks are definately hate crimes.

On a lighter note, I just got back from work... some of the kids are the sweetest, and I really want to adopt some of them. We were making Chinese Dragons today for Chinese New Year. And I got a drawing from a 4 your old, of me... (Well she says it's me) Smile
Hehe, i'm typing this at the moment and one of my hands has a youtube link wrote on it, and the other one says "Karlie 4 Gerard- Love is in the air" surrounded by hearts. This is what happens when you say yes to an 8 yr old when they ask if they can write on your hand. *headdesk* I'm sure a little girl is OBSESSED with Gerard, Lol... it's just she chooses to write it on my hand and not her own! She talks about MCR pretty much non stop. We get on well! Hehe.

I used to play this Ducktales game on our computers in school... a lot! It was really cool, but I always sucked at trying to fly the plane. When I was little I always imagined that Beary Juice tasted like strawberry Kool-Aid.

I have such an intolerance for violence, it's disgusting. Hearing about what people do to one another almost makes me want to stoop to their level and go vigilante on their ass.

And that sounds like one cool 8 year old! <3

Hey, now, at least they didn't get sent to Jersey! lmfao Tara, I adore you.

I was going to say I'd kill somebody if my punishment would be to sit in an airport in Wisconsin with Affleck for eternity, but I don't think I could do it, not even for that. (so maybe my reward for *not* killing someone will be that?)

Karlie, I do love Chip and Dale, I just hate the Rescue Rangers because of the stupid theme song I had to hear every day. I grew up on the old Bill Justice shorts, you know, "Two Chips and a Miss", "Dragon Around", "Working For Peanuts," "Pluto's Christmas Tree", my personal favorite "Donald Applecore", and so on. Performing for Bill Justice was one of the coolest things ever because it was like performing for "Dad" since he created Chip and Dale, and his wife was impressed because I (well, Chip) knew who he was. I fawned on him probably a little more than I should have, but he was so excited that he had been recognized (most of the chipmunks were college kids who only knew Rescue Rangers) and I was so excited that he was there. I wanted his Chip and Dale animators' ring SO BAD. He must have shown it to me 20 times. (he's really old and forgets things.)

Dale: APPLECORE!
Donald: Baltimore?
Dale: Who's your friend?
Donald: ME!
(Dale beans Donald in the face with the applecore)

Ah, the good childhood memories.....

On the icky stories, however: one of the guys I worked with at Disney was beaten nearly to death in a gas station restroom for being black and gay. It was horrible to see how it affected him. The bastards that did it to him were caught and are serving 10 year sentences, no chance for parole, not even for good behavior. The guy has to live with the scars the rest of his life. I think they should have gotten longer time. I'm comforted by the fact that they're in gen pop, so they won't have any room to talk by the time they get out, since they'll have been made into someone's woman many, many times over the course of their sentence. That, to me, is the best justice.

Ahhh, Tabs... I knew you would be the one to get that.

Clap Very Happy

And what you said about the criminals reminds me of an old Sublime song called Date Rape. It's really wordy and you get hte jist of the song by the title, so I'll just quote the last chorus...
But that's the way it had to be
they locked him up and threw away the key
but I can't take pity on men of his kind
even tho he now takes it in the behind.

That's one of my favorite Sublime songs, just because of that ending. I actually think of those guys whenever I hear that song.

And I love your new avatar. How adorable. I love to see him happy.

Hello folks! Whoops haven't been in a while - I got sucked into YouTube with the funny cats from LOLcat and from there digressed to Gabriel Iglesias (comic), oh and a doccie called Rize - about clown dancing/krumping etc.....Sorry...... couldnt help myself!

Hey I also know the Gummi Bears song by heart - in fact, sometimes when we are out at a club they will play it for fun and the whole place sings along - hilarious! You can tell who the youngsters are .... they are the once mouthing along and pretending to know the words... we off course being the ones miming the entire thing along with the words.

So what has happened in the world of MCRness.... I am getting more and more excited about the DVD and the new songs...YAY!

Violence due to ignorance and hate just disgust me personally - if you don't understand people just leave them alone.... why go out of youre way to destroy that person - the way you act towards someone has a long term effect on them. Even if you say something that you think is funny or to entertain youre friends or to look cool - the person youre saying it to is hurt by it and it will be with them forever. People dont understand that a silly thing you do to someone can destroy their lives - not everyone takes things in their stride. Hurting someone just for the sake of hurting them makes me sick to my stomach.

Let me calm down ..... okay.

Finally the shirt I made for my "sister in law" for the concert in March has been finished. I had a huge problem with the printing.... the first place I took it to totally fucked it up - it looked like they glued the stuff on the shirt, it was all shiny, too small, place wrongly and the best of all....... skew! Can you believe it! So we found some young guys who run a small print shop, took a new shirt to them and it came out brilliantly - for less than half the price.... now it's done and I can relax and wait for the concert. Ugh they confirmed the local bands that will also be playing and the band that I really dislike is going.... I will just zone out for that hour then..... luckily I am not the bottling type - that also pisses me of, you paid to see these bands (yes you paid to see all of them even if you only really want to see the one) so keep an open mind and give them a chance..... maybe you'll even love them (this is for those Download festival bottlers not me I will never like that band.....they disgust me - music is okay but the guys .... noooooo way, no respect). Will really stop now.....

Are we talking about the SOPHIE site? I'd be willing to make a donation as part of an MCR group. Now that my finances are in order I'm getting ready to send off my annual Make-A-Wish donation, and I've already decided to contribute in honor of Krystel's wish (linky for those who haven't read the story) rather than just sending in my usual random TWINK tax deduction donation. For a couple without kids, it surprises me how pretty much all of our charitable giving goes to children's charities, except for what we give to Hero Initiative.

If someone sets something up for Sophie, send me the link. I'll throw in some cash for a good cause.

Tara: So sorry to hear about your husband, sweetie. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. ILY. *hugs and kisses*

Deb, I didn't know you'd been laid off too! *hugs*

The economy is such a mess right now. I voluntarily took a cut in hours (35 rather than 40) so that I wouldn't have to lay off one of my staff members. I feel it, but at least none of my staff are out of a job. We've lost about 15 kids in the last month, leaving me overstaffed. People down here took advantage of home loans and adjusted interest rates a few years ago, and now that the rates went up they can't afford their homes anymore and there are foreclosures like crazy around here.

It amazes me -- Tara, I remember one time you were talking about the cost of living in Jersey -- but most of the people who are moving are going to New York or New Jersey. I don't understand that. It can't be that much better up there than down here. If hubby's job would transfer, I think we might move too, but we're pretty limited to here, California, or Hong Kong -- and I know Cali wouldn't be any better than here.

I just hate hearing that you guys are so affected. I hope things get better and again, let me know if there's anything I can do.
