Vanya Hargreeves:
Gah!:
Does anybody here know where I can get a dress like Tracy Williams (Helena) has in the vid, in New Zealand, and preflably not on the internet?
Hmmm.
I'm not completely sure, but maybe a fancy dress store or eBay stores?

I'm thinking there was one handpainted set and then it was somehow printed off in mass? I mean, I think they all look the same. There's no way you can get exact replications each time when painting.

They're all handpainted. You can tell when you look at them. They're all made differently.
They weren't painted by the guys, though.

Yeah, I agree with Allison. I'm pretty sure they're handpainted, but they're definitely not painted by the guys themselves...I mean, imagine sitting there painting 10,000 masks! Cheese

In LOTMS frank states that worst injury he ever sustained was breaking his toes. Does anyone know how he did break his toes?

He balanced himself up on a monitor that was pitched awkwardly and landed the wrong way on them.

by the content of the song i dont really see them useing cheerleaders for desolation row
yea i heard that bob dylan said that he thought they did an excellent job with it!it

Where'd you hear that? I'd be really interested in hearing what Bob has to say about MCR.

Does anyone know when they might be releasing the track, or if they are doing the entire song. I know I heard it live in Chicago, but have no memory of its legnth. The original version is close to 12minutes, so I could understand if they shortened it, but I really hope they don't!

^^ But if it's being used as the credits track, 12 minutes might be a good length, especially for a movie like Watchmen that is going to have a lot of SFX and training and CG and etc credits. It's definitely not Clerks where they have cast, a director/editor, a producer, and credit the boom guy as "Whoever was holding the mike pole that day".

I do seem shaky on believing the video rumors -- the last 10+ minutes song I remember a video for was November Rain and it barely got play after the first week or so because it took up a block all on its own. (But I've not had cable for like 10 years so a few may have snuck by me, corrections are appreciated and expected on that comment)

Whats up with mcr saying "Did u get what u deserve" ? They say it like 20 times in "Dead" and they also say it in "cemetery drive" . I just wanted to know bc they say it awfully a lot . Not that its a bad thing but it does get old in "dead".

Well the title of the second album is "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" so it fits into the revenge theme, Dead! uses as well but as more of a concern for the person in who dies; they die young, did they get to do everything that they wanted, or did they deserve this early death? It's a theme in Dead! which is why it is repeated. Not to mention it's a well-known phrase that is often used anyway.

As for the use in DEAD, I always thought it was being sarcastic in reference to the dead person going to heaven. As in through out their life they were religious, and once they died some says "And if you get to heaven, I'll be here one day (asking) "Did you get what you deseve?"

i always took the "did you get what you deserve? the ending of your life"

as in "you deserved to die" or something like that. maybe it's a tad too morbid, though.

i do havea question though.
so i've just been wondering. did MAtt play drums on revenge like the CD?
because, Bob wasn't even in the band when they did the video of I'm Not Okay.
so does that mean Matt played drums on the cd?
it's just been bothering me and i wanted to make sure.

Yep Matt did play the drums on TCFSR
If you find the cd he is pictured on the pull out and also on the cd cover at the back with the rest of the band

I'm pretty sure Gerard said somewhere that they were gonna pick 4 of their favorite verses only and not record the entire song.

Aww thats kind of unfortunate, its such a good song...
Thanks for the update though

I can't wait for it to come out, I'm so excited to discuss the meangings of the verses; they're so crazy, yet they are all hidden refrences

UPDATE: Just to conclude on the Bob Dylan topic, there is a short interview with Gerard that discusses 1. Shortening the song 2.Having it sound "like a dirty punk song" 3. Dylan enjoyed seeing a tape of them playing it live. Here are the verses they have been singing Live. I think we can pretty much assume they are the ones that will be recorded.

Theyre selling postcards of the hanging
Theyre painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
Theyve got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad theyre restless
They need somewhere to go
As lady and I look out tonight
From desolation row

Cinderella, she seems so easy
It takes one to know one, she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette davis style
And in comes romeo, hes moaning
You belong to me I believe
And someone says, youre in the wrong place, my friend
You better leave
And the only sound thats left
After the ambulances go
Is cinderella sweeping up
On desolation row

Now at midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see that nobody is escaping
To desolation row

Right now I cant read too good
Dont send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From desolation row

Man did they cut that up or what? To bad my favorite verse didn't make it. Oh well, at least they are doing the cover in the first place. ~ Rex

I think the character is just questioning if his life turned out the way that he wanted, now that it's ending.

Well, Revenge IS the cd, and yes he did. If you're referring to the tour, then that would be mostly Bob.

romeo.:

Bob was in the INO video, and that was actually his first performance with the band.

i think there's already a thread to discuss the song and then you can discuss the rumored video there too. keep it in there and not in here, thanks.
