He's good, no doubt, but I wouldn't go as far as to compare him to Eddie V. Don't they trust Joe to be able to pull it off? I mean, yeah, he's a stoner, but he can still pull off some pretty impressive riffage when the time is right. And really, they could've gotten any of the other FBR guys to do it for half the price, probably. They could've gotten RyRo to do it for a candy bracelet and a nickel. John Mayer's an amazing guitarist.
He's kind of one of the few musicians around these days who's known for his guitar-playing,
Aside from Jack White, who I highly doubt would've done a song with FOB. lmao.
Anyway, I think it was an appropriate choice. No FBR dudes are up to that skill level in my opinion.
Maybe Joe, but like Chrissy said, it's a tradition thing to have someone who's really known for his guitar skills play on the song. |
