| asha shake. Devil's Got Your Number Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | I miss sewing too xD but I have barely any motivation to do it now, which sucks. that and, I don't like Spotlight/Lincraft, mainly because I have to listen to my friend who works at Spotlight constantly bitching about it lol. haha, I don't think I've sewed anything since my year 12 major project for textiles xD I feel like I'm going to go into withdrawals soon, I don't have another gig for 8 days xDDD |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | I love the shit outta Spotlight! But I'm always too broke to get stuff lol. I have my first gig this month tomorrow night. Mammal. YAY. Speaking of, I just won a comp from HiFi for a Mammal CD. Which I think is The Aural Underground. Which I already have. Hahaha. We got it like ages ago when my bf's brother was working at KMW, and Mammal were with KMW, so we got an advanced copy. I guess it's only on my iPod/burnt, so not I have an original copy and feel less like scum. BUT STILL. Of the like 10 comps I entered, the one I win is the one I needed least. |
| CAcT '-.-' tux Salute You in Your Grave Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | ^ ahah congratulations anyways...you'd feel luck is on your side when you win comps. now we're gonna turn this into an old granny sewing projects thread ^^ spotlight is a big mess all the time. 8 days and feeling symptoms already?! I've actually started turning people down for gigs...I feel the need to retreat a bit and just work on some art |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | I just finished reading the Harry Potter series again, I'd hoped I'd like the epilogue more this time around... it's still shit though. And I've not been to a gig since May 8th (A7X), and my next one isn't til July 22nd. No wait, July 18th. But that's a friend's band. Ah I love Spotlight too. My friend works there too. But there's always so much stuff I want there, but I know that I'll never sew any of it... Like I've got material in my (massive) basket under my desk from when I was in year 10ish, which I still haven't touched. Haha oh well... Definitely don't feel like cleaning my room right now though. Nooo motivation. I knit on the bus sometimes. |
| asha shake. Devil's Got Your Number Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | I haven't been to a gig since Monday, and the next one is on the 28th of June. xD unless I can somehow get in to the Cut Copy gig tomorrow night. don't know how I would do this, but whatever lol. I haven't even been in Spotlight for ageeeees. I didn't even know that the one near me had moved until I saw an ad on tv for the ~grand opening~ lmfao. Whenever I used to go there though, I'd always buy stuff and be all 'omg I can totally make something awesome out of this!', then it'd sit in the material box thing we have in the study/computer/random crap room xD |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | Haha EXACTLY what I do. Except that I put it under my desk/ in my wardrobe... which I'm cleaning out right now. Hahaha urrggh. |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | sez: OH MY GOD I KNOW. Lol. I HATE the epilogue. All was well? What the hell is that? In one sentence she managed to destroy one of my most favourite series ever. I grew up loving Harry Potter. Years of lining up to get those damn books the minute it went on sale. And in one fell swoop she killed it. ... sorry. I'm kinda not over it. xDD P.S. Asha. I luuurve your sig. Tee hee. Favourite song from that album. |
| CAcT '-.-' tux Salute You in Your Grave Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | Rh!annon: oh yeah i just noticed! I love that song...I've almost forgotten it, & that it's TLE's song oops. The first time I heard it, it was on the 40 Hr Famine ad & I fell in love with it. *digs out TLE album* |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | Haha I was going to comment on your sig too, then couldn't be bothered editing my post or double posting xD And I quite agree. What the hell. WHY would she do that. Worst decision EVER. And seriously, who names their children after their dead parents, and two dead headmasters? ALBUS SEVERUS, WHAT THE HELL KIND OF NAME IS THAT? |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | HAHAHAHA I KNOW. It was WAY too fluffy. I was gonna puke. I dunno if I just outgrew the books, or if they just got shitter as they went on. Maybe a bit of both. But 5-7 steadily crashed and burnt. ButOMGIstillcriedineveryoneofthem. |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | Oh I know. I quite agree. 5 was okaaaay. But I think that in 7 she was just trying to tie up all the loose ends, and the story suffered for it. I mean, I still love them (and yes, I cried in them too...) but I really think that the first four were much better. Perhaps it was becuase they weren't as well-known, and she didn't have all the pressure to produce a masterpiece. Three is definitely my favourite. I love Sirius. I just love 3. I remember being scared of 1 when I first got it for Christmas... because it mentioned vampires. And I couldn't read it for a good two weeks, because it mentioned vampires (that Quirrell had supposedly encountered in Albania). Imagine being a kid and reading these last few. I've been scared, and I'm nineteen! |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | LOL! I know! Reading that at 11 years of age was terrifying. But I also found a Goosebumps book so terrifying when I was little that I couldn't finish it lol. *lame* But that's one thing that annoyed me, towards the latter few everyone was going "She can't write THAT it's a kid's book!" I'm like it is NOT. But I felt like that made her tone down the last 3 a bit. 3 & 4 are my favorite. 3 was what made me so sure that Snape would turn out to be good. There were SO clues. But WTF at Remus not getting a death scene in #7. Why is he not important enough to get his own death scene? Too much Trio banter and not enough Remus. And a major WTF at Dumbledore being gay. I mean, why say that if you're not even going to put it in the book? kjashjkasfhj |
| punkrockess Killjoy Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1 | ST looks like a great movie |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | OMG I know. I have major problems with that. The Dumbledore thing, not the Remus thing. Well, that too, now that you mention it. GAH. But seriously, what on earth is the point of announcing that after the series is finished, it makes absolutely NO difference to ANYTHING. The only thing I can think of is that becuase he was in love with Grindelwald (last night I discovered that there's a place called that in Tasmania... my friend and I are so going there xD), so defeating him was so much tougher, and so he is so much better a wizard for it? I dunno. Seriously though. WHY. |
| patrick wolf Salute You in Your Grave Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 2326 | Rh!annon: Okay, I'm a tad bit late but; GAH, WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING!!? When the 6th and 7th books came out I left for band camp that same day and both times I stayed up all night reading it. And I was seriously disappointed :/ The Prisoner Of Azkaban is my favourite too, and that movie is the best so far. The movies are getting worse as well; they crammed the longest book into a movie that was shorter than the rest. I spoke to people who saw the movie and didn't read the book and they said that it was so confusing. Well it's because they tried to fit 800 pages into a two hour long film!!! I hope twilight doesn’t get ruined like HP did :/ |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | ^ Agreed so hard. The movies are like my most hated thing EVER. I watched the first one and have since refused to watch every movie thereafter due to what an absolute disgrace it was. The ads for the others haven't done them any favours in my eyes either. Um. Why were the Dementors FLYING? Sez; I totally think that's it with the Dumbledore/Grindelwald thing. But seriously, if you're gonna have a plot, either include it in the story or not at all. |
| asha shake. Devil's Got Your Number Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | I don't mind the movies tbh, sure the books are better, but the movies aren't that bad. Although I did admittedly feel really sick after the last one, much to the amusement of the people I saw it with. It's not my fault there was so much spinning! xD And completely unrelated, but I just saw that Jane McGrath (Glenn McGrath's wife, for those people uninterested in Cricket, ie pretty much everybody) passed away this morning ): That's so sad. They have two quite young children too, under 10 years old I think. So yeah, my condolences go out to all their family and friends. |
| Rh!annon Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | Oh no. Timing, as I posted this I just heard about it on the news. |
| sez Bleeding on the Floor Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1416 | =( That's really sad. Dementors. Flying. I HATED that. WHAT the hell. I mean really, READ THE BOOKS THEN ADAPT IT TO A MOVIE! The movies annoy me too, but I still like them. Though not as much as the books. Naturally. |
