Yeah, Rachel would make it good as

Someone on the MCRmy posted this:

Can I rant about the DVD for a second? Or will you eat me alive? : 05/05/08 2:14AM

1) Why is it $60 for the LE?

2) Why is there no video diary?

3) Why is it only concert footage?

4) What is the point of it?

If I wanted to see MCR perform live*~ I wouldn't spend $60 on a stupid DVD to do so - I would actually buy a concert ticket and see them for myself for even CHEAPER OMG than this DVD. So what, TBP is dead. Your point? How can something that was supposed to be a metaphor for death - die? Excuse my ignorance if that is not what this whole TBP thing was, unless they are referring to TBP as in the ~*alter ego*~. Because for the past oh, 2 years this TBP thing has been hammered down my throat and rehashed over and over again its not even funny anymore and it STILL DOESNT MAKE SENSE, AT ALL. Maybe I'm bitter - yeah, thats it. I love this band to death but for fucks sake, when will it stop?

IN MY OPINION, this band has become nothing more than their image. It has taken over everything that they used to be. I'm all for change but not when it changes who you are and makes you forget your reasons. Right now this whole thing makes me think the reasons are $$$$$$, nothing deeper than that. I don't want a fucking mask, a stupid pinebox or death certificate or a DVD of shows that I've went to/didn't go to. I want music that actually means something, a glimpse inside of what was put into TBP, and something more than just a fucking performance. In my rock history class we just learned about Bowie. He created Ziggy Stardust and got famous off of that "alter ego" not because it was some grand meaning or whatever, its because that is what was selling. OKAY, they figured it out - shit like this brings in crowds to shows and makes people buy records. Bowie isn't all that great or a singer/musician, at all. MCR is...or so I thought. Like Alice Cooper started off as a cross dresser and figured out that he could get more people to pay attention and come to his concerts if he went into horror. Same thing with Kiss. All of those supposed ~*legendary*~ bands or artists or what have you just laughed their way to the bank with their weird ass creativity. It cost them a lot of money, and it made them a lot of money. I'm seeing the same damn thing here. The only "bad" thing is that it takes an emphasis off of the music, and makes it a big LOOK AT ME type thing, and that, my friends, is what is pissing me off. I never liked this band because of what they looked like or how they dressed or the stories they could come up with about a thousand corpses or a patient. I cared because they meant something. And I fear that one day they will be nothing BUT an image, a story, or a concept. I hope with all of my heart that I'm wrong in the worst kind of way.

I've never been so glad that they are going on a break. And I never thought I'd be cynical enough to say so. I'm honestly not being a bitch or mean, I'm just saying what I feel. FORGIVE ME FOR NOT BEING A TRU FANZ*~ but I'm very very disenchanted (haha) with this band right now. I think I need a break from them as much as they need a break from us.

oh and I dont care WHO is responsible for the price or content - it has MCR's name on it and that means that they endorse/represent whatever the fuck their record company/management is doing. I'll admit, the masks are somewhat cool, but not cool enough for $60. I know that record sales are down because of illegal downloading and what the fuck else but I don't care. You shouldn't ream your fans for every penny they have every chance you get because you aren't making the almighty dollar. Record companies need to find a better way because soon people are going to catch on and then they'll really be screwed.

Thank you for your time and when you buy that LE DVD/regular DVD (cause $20 is wayyy too much for that too) I hope you know EXACTLY what you're paying for.

end 2am rant

I'm starting to agree. (not fully agree, only slightly. my mum fully agrees though.)

i was feeling the same way about all this mcr stuff last night...

i mean i have spent hundreds of dollars on mcr stuff... i could have done so much more with that money...

i think the fame is getting to Gerards head. Compare interviews from before the black parade went big and now. He will hardly answer any questions and i dunno its boring now.

wow about the rant
mmm, i do agree about the cost of it and such.

but i dont know, i suppose its hard to agree at first when someone just criticises your favourite band, even when its by a fan.
i dont think its a "big look at me type thing", at least i REALLY hope its not.

i dont watch enough interviews to be able to compare. i think that it would be pretty hard not to let it go to your head. i mean, he has thousands and thousands of people who completely idolises him. he has total control over huge arenas full of fans. its still not good though, obv.

Yeah
I think it could be starting to become a "big look at me type thing" (I REALLY hope not though). I still love them, but just for the music, i don't care at all for all the image-based stuff and all the money grabbing.
