Yekith Jazz Hands ![]() Age: - Gender: - Posts: 343 | Uh...the thing is...people played telephone - including supposedly serious sites, and the info going around now is far from a fact. People who reported as soon as they were back from that Chicago show said all Gerard said was that they wouldn't be back there (Chicago, or the US as a whole, as much) for a while, that they'd probably make a new album first. Didn't talk about a break like some have mentioned. Didn't say they'll go into the studio as soon as the HCT ends. Doesn't mean they won't go to other countries at the end of this year or beginning of the next one. He only implied this is the last US tour supporting this album. Just like it's said Reading and Leeds is the last the UK will see of them until the next album. Now, how the bullshit grew. Absolute Punk lets anyone with an account post "news". Someone posted the -wrong- assumption that MCR would go back to the studio right after HCT. Alt Press took it from there. NME and some other magazines took it from Alt Press and then others took it from those last ones. I swear I started checking the last 'source' I saw yesterday and they all quoted someone else, like a quote-chain and I know it all leads to Absolute Punk where a random fan posted. So, you see how trustable the media is. *rolls eyes* Yes, during an interview they said they'd been writing while on tour, it's no surprise, many bands do. But he's also said they want to visit some countries they haven't yet before going back to the studio. So, I say we just wait and see what happens. |
Finnick Odair In the Cannibal Glow ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 50222 | Mikey seems to imply that is the case: Danger Days just came out last year, but have you started working on any new material? Yeah, we have actually. We kind of write every day and we don’t even realize we’re doing it. Sometimes we’ll be at soundcheck and someone will have a riff and everyone starts playing off the riff, or Gerard [Way] has a vocal melody and everyone starts playing off the vocal melody. We’ve had tons of stuff come from that. We’re not really sure where the songs are going to end up or what they’re going to be yet, but we’re just going to keep writing and writing. After this tour, we’re going to pretty quickly continue demoing and then get in there as soon as possible to make a new album. From this interview with Absolute Punk. |

Tallulah Admin ![]() Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 16777215 | When I said AP had tweeted I meant Alternative Press. |
Yekith Jazz Hands ![]() Age: - Gender: - Posts: 343 | Mikey says they'll start demoing after the tour and then record as soon as possible, not that they'll make an album right away. Also, with "tour" he might be talking in general, not specifically about the HCT. That's mostly what I've been saying when people get overexcited or -in the case of those of us who haven't been able to see them- disappointed. All that has been said -or implied -like I mentioned above- doesn't mean they're recording a new album right after the HCT. Many people understood that, Tumblr's been going crazy! We'll have to wait and see what happens after the HCT, I guess! Anyway, it's great to hear they're feeling creative and don't want a big gap in between albums. ![]() |

Ainakea Killjoy ![]() Age: 25 Gender: Female Posts: 1 | [It takes a lot of fearlessness — or recklessness — to abandon a project you’ve been working on for more than a year, and apparently not everyone was on board. Four days into the band’s sessions with [producer, Rob] Cavallo, it was decided that drummer Bob Bryar would leave the group. The band won’t go into specifics. (“There’s legal stuff going on,” Toro says.) “It quickly became apparent that [Bryar] was obstructing their creative process,” Cavallo says. “It was a sad thing, but he was throwing water on their fire.” “There were great reasons we were together for five years, and you don’t want to forget those,” says Iero. “But you can’t be in an artistic-driven band with a person who doesn’t love creating.”] After looking at this, it makes me come to the conclusion that perhaps everyone decided it was best for Bob to leave because of the scrapped album. I think that Bob had liked the scrapped album and they had put their hard work and effort into it, but the guys wanted to do something different, but Bob was frustrated because he thought the album was good. When it mentions "to abandon a project you’ve been working on for more than a year, and apparently not everyone was on board", that sounds like the scrapped album. And then it goes on to say, “It quickly became apparent that [Bryar] was obstructing their creative process," which I believe is how that Bob had wanted to keep MCR like how it was in the scrapped album, but everyone else wanted to create something new (Danger Days) and to do something different. So that's may be why they implied that "he was throwing water on their fire", because he didn't like the new sound they wanted to try out. I was really sad when I found out he left, though. Bob was, in my opinion, their best drummer. He had so much talent and he will be missed by many. I know that whatever he may pursue in the future, that he will be great at it. ![]() |
