OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.

AFI WERE AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZING.

Honestly, them live compared to the album - there is no comparison!!

It was fucking hilarious too.
While we were waiting for the support act, we broke the barrier at the front.
So security were fixing and shizz.
Then, midway through the second song that AFI played, it broke again.

So Davey stood there, and started telling us these stories, and picked questions from the crowd!!
He told us the story how he, Adam and Smith (their manager) were walking down the street, and crossing the road. There was a car going 20 mph and it hit Smith.

He went flying 7 feet down the street. Then, he got up, chased the car down the street, just to tell the driver he was okay.
I found it hilarious.

Then someone asked why he didn't drink, and he told us, and we all cheered for him.

ANYWAY, there were a couple of death circles (y'know, those mosh circles, where everyone's running around and pushing each other), and I was standing right on the edge.
I've got bruises all over me, but I couldn't care less.

Then, I think it was the second to last song, Davey actually got into the crowd, and was kinda knee-surfing. I ran towards him, but there were too many people in front.

Then they played Miss Murder last of course, and it was amazing.
Like, honestly... I'm lost for words.
At one stage, when they went off, we were all stomping our feet and clapping our hands, and the floor was vibrating so hard.

My ears are still ringing, and though I've had a shower, I still smell a little bit of sweat and smoke. >.<

So all in all, it was just amazing.

Ah, so they didn't drop Davey during his crowd walk?
People tend to do that...
I'm glad you had fun, and I'm super jealous.

Haha, no.
No, they treated him like... Jesus or something.
Seriously, it looked like a huge cult thing, and we were all worshipping him.

Yeah, he does that at the end of each show.
Apparently he gets dropped a lot.

Very Happy
It was awesome!
I was so so close.
My friend touched Davey's foot, but wasn't quite at the right angle to help hold him up. I wasn't close enough, but I stared nearly straight up at him while he was standing on the crowd.
Lupo's is an awesome venue.
But there were too many crowd surfers. And they kicked you in the head. Idiots.
They played 6 to 8!!
*is obsessively happy or whatever*

Oh, and someone was trying to take a picture of Davey with their cell phone during the slow part of Miss Murder, and so he took it from them, held it up, took a picture of himself, and then gave it back. It was really sweet. That's going to make me grin for a long while.

Oh, but there was this creepy guy, and he went up to my friend,/crush and was all like, "How old are you? I think you're beautiful. Will you make out with me? And so she put her arm around me and whatever, and it worked. But then he started like caressing her back, so she kicked him and he stopped. And then he did that to me, and I ignored him, and then he stopped. We kinda wanted him there though, because he was fat so he made good padding.
And then this other guy kept leaning on me for a while. And he said something to me but I don't know what he said. It was during AFI, so everything was really really loud, and I didn't care much either way.

But that's not really AFI related.

Davey was wearing orangey - pink glittery blacklight sensitive eyeshadow, and I was getting really confused about whether it was orange or pink, and my friend finally had to explain that it was both. Oh, and he really needs to fix his pants. Because his fly was halfway down and evidently that happens often and it's really obvious when he's wearing all white, and I'm really not interested in seeing that.

</blabbering>
Noelia, I did.
This is it.
The song would be God Called in Sick Today. That is an awesome story.
They didn't drop him during our GCIST either, but we didn't get the neat talking thing.
What he said at my show was, "Hi, I'm Davey. Nice to meet you, Providence."
Or something like that.
Yes we know, Davey. But it was kind of sweet.

You should listen to some of their older music.
The newer stuff definitely isn't all they are.
They have roots, a long period of time before they became famous, unlike a lot of the popular bands, so there's a lot out there.
Please, please, please, don't just judge them by Miss Murder and Love Like Winter.
Or something similar.

I didn't say you didn't have that right.
Wait, looks?
Aren't we talking about the music?
But anyway, I'd suggest looking at something from The Art of Drowning, if you feel like listening to their older music.
Probably Days of the Phoenix, since that's the one a lot of people like.

Hmm.
Well, I think that in order to understand the band's sound now,
you have to start at Black Sails in the Sunset, the first record Jade was playing on.
The band has evolved so much over the years.
And I love Decemberunderground just as much as Black Sails.
Sure, it sounds different, but its still the same AFI.
It makes sense at where they are, and what they sound like now.
Then again, its all a matter of taste.
Like what you want to.

If you're doing that, it's probably better to go backwards, so it's not as much of a shock, though, I'd think.
