If you've watched the news in the past year or so you might pick up that nearly everyday there is a new story about someone going into a crowded place with a semi-automatic gun and shooting down tons of people. I think this is crazy and needs to be adressed! However all thats been done is teachers got trained on how to use a gun. I honestly don't think we will put an end to gun violence by brining more guns into the equation. This is just my opinion. What is your opinion? How do you think gun violence should be stopped?

I live in New Zealand and like nobody owns a gun. Maybe hunters?
Our police officers don't even carry guns on them. I'm pretty sure they keep them locked up in the boot of the patrol car.
Do we ever have shootings? No. I can't think of one comparative to something in the US.
I can think of a handful of times people have been shot around the country, but it's definitely not a common thing.
If nobody has guns, nobody gets shot. I hope to hell guns are never a common thing in NZ
because there's no way of taking them back off the streets or back out of people's homes once they're there. It's futile.

What I think places like the US need to focus on is giving education, counselling, and mental health services to their people.
If you eliminate a potential shooter's problems, then they will have no reason to shoot.
If you teach people violence isn't the answer, make sure they stick with their education so they can get a 'real' job,
then they won't fall into dangerous crowds or situations. Accomplishing this is obviously pretty damn difficult
but I personally, see no other way of eliminating gun violence.
