I think it is pretty bad, but if you do have feelings toward one of your relatives then I say they should be allowed to get married. It's not any of my buisness and I don't have to see what they do in their privacy. I remember reading on quizilla a Frank story where he fell in love with his sister. I actually thought it was very well written, and it made me change my thoughts on incest relationships. I think it should be allowed.

edit: i was just reading this post b4 me and she's right. If Adam and Eve were the only two people in the world then their children had to mate with each other or else none of us would even be here. but I dont believe in God I'm just trying to make a point, and agree with her.

She's right. It's never going to be socially acceptable. Ever, Just like homosexuality, it's never going to happen. There are always going to be assholes out there, and they are always going to look down on what they feel is wrong.
But should it be legal? I think it might as well be, along with homosexuality, it's going to happen whether or not you like it.
I think it's ridiculous comparing it to homosexuality.
Because of modern (well, in terms of the planet, supermodern, but not that modern) culture and scientific knowledge, this is not something that's going to be widespread, no matter what.
I mean, cousins, maybe, but your average person is not going to be attracted to his or her sibling. It's just not going happen most of the time.
Homosexuality, on the other hand, is obviously much more prevalent. And what you said about it being socially accepted? It's already happening. We now have mainstream movies where the main characters are gay, and not in a degrading way, either. We have gay celebrities who years ago would never have made it anywhere simply because they admitted they were gay. And legal changes tend to be reflective of the general opinion of the population. Obviously not all of the time, but lawmakers can't disagree with the public too much or else he or she will not get elected. So the legal changes actually are reflective of a growing acceptance of gay people. Maybe it seems like that's not true, but if you think about all these gay pride events that didn't use to exist and all these books and movies and articles and people and everything, things have definitely changed. The two aren't really in any position for comparison.

As for consensual incest, I don't see why people have that many problems with it. Birth defects are a problem, yes, but if there isn't reproduction involved, it's fine. Not for me, but a lot of things aren't, and legal action against it to me is just interfering with people's private lives in a way that shouldn't be done.

Do you believe that consensual incestuous relationships should be allowed?

No,thats really wrong.I think that this usually occurs with an older family member and a younger one and that is purely an abuse of power.

People usually consent to these relationships out of fear or confusion.

I think that anyone who is in a incestuous relationship needs to get some help for that.

If they are related by adoption or marriage, or if they're like third cousins or something, I don't really see the big deal. But brothers and sisters, I guess I'm being prejudice for saying this, just seems disgusting. Plus if they have kids they could have a genetic disorder. I'm sort of on the fence about this.

If a certain person is pressured into the relationship, and can't tell, that'd be bad, but if it's entirely consensual I don't see the problem.
