For me its all about the music...
Not who is dating who, not who is drinking again. What fan is pissed because they were snubbed. Not what the sunglasses really conceal, or what you think about anybody!
Are you ready to get "It"?.....
Music is blind and pure. It knows no race, religion, preferences or orientations. It does not know words like Freak, ugly, pretty, weird.....any of them. Music is even ground where everyone is welcome and can stay as long as they like. Music is a close friend and at the same time something new around the bend. Music is the pulse of life, is passes all languages barriers and teaches everyone something about themselves. Music only has one rule: If you wanna listen...you have to take a trip.

Blue October takes me back two years, bad days and sleepless nights. Its playing one song over and over because one line convinced me to hang in there for one more week, another day...or at least one more song. Its the songs that take you back to the moment where you realized that you just might be okay. Its the songs that make you wanna live because your too pissed to die. Its proof that your not the only one.....and that it can and will get better. Its the songs that make you wanna get up and try one more time, even though you know there is a good chance your gonna fall on your butt again. Its the songs you blast when you have achieved the impossible because you wanna hear that song again years later and still be able to live that moment. Its hearing those songs and having to swallow the lump that rises in your throat because you feel like you have conquered the world all over again. Its having that one song that is you....and everytime you hear it you fall in love all over again.
Bluegrass music is home. No matter where in the world i have been, home is no more than a song away. It sums up everything in a few lines and allows me to visit whenever i like. Its everything that makes it hard to leave, and all of the things that have inspired me to go. Its the sound of a dobro on Saturday morning, or being able to close your eyes and hear what the song really says. Its seeing the notes behind your eyes, and its the reminder that things that have almost nothing in common can come together and make somthing more than music.
Classical music makes me a child again. For a short time i don't wonder why or how, i just enjoy. Its seeing a genuises mind and work and standing in awe of something bigger than yourself. Its makes you proud of mankind, and yet sad. It makes you want to master everything, and be a student for the rest of your life. It lets me know that changes can be made, and some things are better left incomplete.
All of music allows me to take a journey. There are songs that take me back to people no longer here, or friends that i lost touch with. There are songs that perfectly say what i could not find the words for or was too terrified to speak out loud. Songs that remind me of someone far way, and everytime i hear it, there beside me again. Songs that allow me to say the goodbyes that i didn't get to say, and the hello's that i should have. There are songs that remind me of who i was before, and all that i have overcome. Its the songs that take you back to the most random situtations and places, and no matter what you always smile. Its being able to hear a song and remember the first time you heard it and you didn't care who the band was or what they looked like...all you knew is that you like the music....

That is what its about, not the he said she said, he's changed, he's in it for the money......Forget it. Cause at the end of the day its all about the music. Years from now you will barely remember any of it. You will remember how it made you feel....and thats better than anything else.
So tune everything else out.....turn it up.....and take i trip....we'll probably run into each other one day!
