My Chemical Romance are life savors. I'm not going to walk around preaching this. I'm not going to 'fight' you if you make fun of them. That only promotes the rumor that their music promotes acts of violence. My Chemical Romance is my LIFE. They are my Heros. Saviours. Angels. I usually don't chat much on sites that have tons of MCR fans... I've noticed a nasty trend. In the beginning, the fans took care of each other. Made eachother feel safe in their own skin... Lately I've noticed more and more fans fighting for some sort of dominance... It's sickening. One person gets the lyrics wrong to one song and the rest jump on them for it. One person has to one up the other with knowledge on the band and their songs. And I've had it. Where's my brothers and sisters in arms? The ones i used to know back before The Black Parade? Where are my comrads who know more than Welcome to the Black Parade? I miss the people that made me feel safe. These people, they don't keep me secure. I used to see a My Chem shirt and think 'there's a person i can talk to... someone like me'. Now i see one on every other kid. And those same kids mock self harm and suicide and serious issues that are NOT to be made fun of. I'm sick sick sick of it. I miss the FANS. not the fakes. Where are you guys?
This band is made up of five Angels. Five Angels who've saved all of us ACTUAL fans. I'm tired of the 'real mcr fans' lists i've found. I'm making my own.
Real My Chemical Romance Fans...
Don't have a 'favorite' member, because they are ALL important... there's no way to make one more important than the other.
Would NEVER physicly defend the band. That only tells everyone who calls them a 'cult' that they are right. That just proves that we as fans are 'mindless'.
Would NEVER say that Gerard Way tells them what to do. Real MCR fans already KNOW that they should never show their breasts to some 'shitty ass rock band' for a backstage pass. Gerard Way does not dictate us. Gerard Way tells us that yes, you are right, and yes, there are other people here who will help you. Gerard's word isn't law. Gerard's word solidfies what we already know as truth.
See another fan and get excited. NOT possesive. Real MCR fans know that they should take care of eachother. Gerard and Frank have both said that their kids, fans, are the best. That their fans are unlike anyother, because they take CARE of eachother. Keep eachother safe. Real MCR fans live by that.
Know the words to more songs than I'm Not Okay and The Black Parade. Not because they 'own all the gear' or any stupid materialistic thing like that. But because they borrow CD's from friends, their most prized possesions are the CDs they got for holidays that they play until there are grooves in the tracks.
Have NEVER considered downloading My Chem songs from limewire or any other program that pirates songs. MCR fans may not all have alot of money. But they'll EARN the cds as the band has EARNED the sales. Downloading illegally takes money away from the people who have worked hard, and deserve it. MCR fans would NEVER steal from their Heros.
Have been known to cry when The Ghost of You, or Helena, or Famous Last Words, or ANY song that means something to them is played. Not only because 'Mikey dies in The Ghost of You'. But because the music is powerful and they can feel that. Because that perticular song brings something out in them, or helped them fight away something that would've otherwise brought them down. MCR fans are NOT afraid to admit that these songs are emotional.
Want to go see a show. Not because that's their favorite band. That's just a give in. Not because they want to say they've been to an MCR show, to use it as a one up on other fans. But because they want to be UNITED with other fans. Because they want to feel the movement that is the connection between all of them and their Heros. It's a connection. And real MCR fans will know that.
Have never mocked or made fun of anyone in the band, even before they were big fans. Because real MCR fans should never have felt the need to make fun of someone else's music. And if they have made fun of the band, real MCR fans will ADMIT they have. And they will admit they were wrong.
Will not make all of these examples laws. Real MCR fans will understand the point I am making with these. But they will also know that the band means something different to them as well. MCR fans do not copy eachother. They relate to eachother.
I am an MCR fan. If you are a true MCR fan, copy this and paste it in your profile if you'd like. But make some changes. Make it yours. Make it important to YOU. MCR fans don't copy eachother. They relate to eachother.
