To me, screaming is an art. I know a lot of people thin its stupid and not a form of music, but I appreciate it. here are my favorite screamers.
Casey Calvert would have the top spot, but he's dead.
1. Steven Ledesma (They Die At Dawn)
2. Davey Havok (AFI)
3. Ronnie Winter (The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus)
4. The screamer from Spoken (Don't know his name.)
5. Ben Kowalscyz (Billy Talent)
6. Ryan (Don't know his last name) (Vintage Powersource)
7. Decker (Save Us, Hollwyood)
who are your favorite screamers?

Davey Havok is a pretty good screamer, but Ben Kowalscyz rocks hard core lol

What about Jared Leto? 30 Seconds To Mars? That man can scream ... Shocked lol. I love him. He may be my favorite screamer. I dunno.

Also, the guys from Haste The Day. Dang. They rock hard too.

And I COMPLETELY agree - screaming is an art. Those people who say screaming isn't really music have no idea what they're talking about. You know how much passion a person has to have behind what they're doing in order to be able to scream well?

George Pettit.
His screams aren't brutal, but they're edgy and I love it.

Why in the fuck has no one said Bert McCracken (The Used) yet?! He is screaming royalty =]

Also Oli Sykes (BMTH), Jared Leto (30STM), Matt Tuck (BFMV), and, wait for it.... Gerard Way. Yes, if youve ever heard his screams, he is very good at them too =]

You're right. Bert does rock hard.

And why has no one mentioned our lovely Frankie? Cool He had his fair share of screaming moments "back in the day" lol. We all remember the Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us video, no? Frank had quite the scream in that song Smile

And what about Pete Wentz? I'm not talking Fall Out Boy Pete (although he is allowed his moments to sream in some FOB songs ...) but back in his days with Arma Angelus, he proved he had his fair share of talent when it came to screaming Wink

And Frankie now in Leathermouth... Smile I wish I could scream like that...
But Bert still is, by far, my favorite screamer. Smile

I forgot, Jonathan Davis. He has a really unique screaming voice (a unique voice altogether, for that matter), and it sounds great =]

In my opinion Jonathan Davies has not go that great of voice, he has a more simple melody to his voice nothing to impressive.

Davey Havok does have an amazing Screming voice and voice too, "Sing the Sorrow" really shows his top cards in that, and I love listening to it.

M Shadows has quite an impressive scream. not the best but for what it is, its pretty nifty. plus he has a brilliant laugh. gave me a shiver once. lol

I really like Tim McIlrath from Rise Against; he balances the screaming really well with clean singing, especially on their older material.

Jason Shevchuk from Kid Dynamite/None More Black is more melodic than your average scream, but I think it's abrasive enough to count, and it sounds damn good.

And Otep (of...Otep...) can do some pretty insane things with her voice as well.

Pete's backup screams on FOB songs I like, but the older stuff with Arma is just too...toneless for my tastes, if you know what I mean. There's not much variation, it's all very low down and kind of boring after a couple songs. But balanced against Patrick's voice it sounds nice.

edit: and of course Davey Havok, but you guys already mentioned him.

Bert McCracken and Jared Leto obviously, but if you go back to the 90s you'll see that Chris Cornell was a bloody good screamer in his day.

Hmmm. You guys listed all the best, I'd say. Davey Havok, Bert McCracken, Ben Kowalscyz, Casey Calvert... but I'd have to add Alex Varkatzas from Atreyu. He's got some amazing screams going on.

Female screamers, ftw,
Jessicka from Jack off Jill,
Morgan Lander from Kittie,
the frontwoman from "IWRESTLEDABEARONCE",

But Cory Brandan Putman from Norma Jean is simply my favorite;

Brilliant.
