Hi everyone, this is my first time to post on the comm. I have a sort of random idea, lemme know what you think Smile You know how we all love the fact that Kris and Adam are such adorable friends even if they're so different? I mean, it leaves me speechless sometimes when they speak about accepting people and loving people for who they are. It's all so beautiful! I come from the Philippines, where we're pre-dominantly Christian/Catholic, and I really look up to Kris because of how he;s shown what true Christians (and people of all other religions or non-religions) should be like. Not homophobic holier-than-thou bigots, but simply loving human beings.

Now, in light of the whole prop 8 thing which I think is just DUMB, I remembered that time when someone on the comm suggested people remove their nail polish on one thumb or paint one thumb and thought, "Hey wouldn't it be cool to put up a site with a bunch of submitted pics like that?" Sooo..WHAT IF, we collected pictures of straight people who are pro-gay rights with one painted thumbnail and put up a site like postsecret?? Smile Who's willing to help out??

EDIT! Wow, I'm SO happy people responded. I was nervous as Hell about posting haha Smile So here're the stuff I've set up so far!

Pictures can be sent to: anti_hate@ymail.com
Pics will be posted @ donthate-celebrate.blogspot.com (or d'you guys think I should make an LJ account instead?)

I personally love her idea. And knowing that she's from our country makes me be more enthusiastic about this.

So, the "nail polish" trend / movement / pact was started and made popular [ well, it's not really popular } by American Idol 8's winner and runner-up, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert [ DON'T STOP READING. }. The nailpolish was a symbol of their friendship and support for one another.

Let's start off with pictures to explain a bit...

Story behind the nail polish pact from KrisAllenNation.com:
This story was shared by a friend of the Allen Family who attended the rehearsals this week in LA!

Did you notice Kris had his thumbnail repainted? Can you guess who painted it? That's right! Adam Lambert! Kris performed during Rock week with a painted thumbnail, and his homecoming footage captured the chipped polish. Tuesday night, however, Kris performed one of the best performances of the night (and the season, might I add) with a freshly painted thumbnail.

According to Megan Malone, Adam painted Kris's thumbnail after the homecoming visits and removed the polish from one of his own nails, stating "If you can carry around a piece of me, man; I can do the same for you." Malone said, "The Allens believe Kris wears the black fingernail polish in support of Adam because he wanted Adam in the finale. Also, Kris wanted to dispel any rumors claiming the two weren’t great friends." Kris and Adam were roommates in the Idol Mansion throughout their stay.

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are polar opposites and their close bond witnessed by many viewers shocked some people. They never imagined that the "guy next door", Kristopher Neil Allen, a newly-married Christian man from Arkansas who served as a missionary in Asia and Africa before American Idol, would be friends - much more be best of friends - with Adam Mitchel Lambert, an out gay man who lived in Los Angeles ever since he was little. It was an "odd marriage", the media claimed. But still, despite their differences, they were still able to forge an epic friendship

Adam Lambert:
"We are seemingly so different, but we found a way to get along and find a common bond, mostly through music, but also just through talking and getting to know each other," Adam said. "And if there's anything that can come from this experience that I hope all the fans out there can pick up is that even if you're really different, there's a way to get along with each other. It's not about, 'You beat me because of this.' Or, you're different. It's about finding the common stuff that makes it work. We got out there and did the Queen duet and we made it work because we found a common ground with each other. If there's anything we can take from this, it's bringing you guys together is what our goal was, not separating you."

Their friendship should be an eye-opener for the whole world. It can make a lot of statements relevant to the issues the world is facing now, concerning equality, camaraderie, and so on.

Shifty2 The background of the movement is clear now, hopefully.
