BREATHE

Your face was poetry, symmetry, and a smile with all the right curves

Your words were honey sweet, too sticky, too warm

Your hands were a constant, wrapped around mine, a present I never wanted to discover

Your eyes were open, but you’d gone out, leaving me to stare into nothing, an ice green abyss

I’ve seen things I thought were beautiful, I’d seen the world through an idealist’s eyes, and a realist’s point of view

But I hadn’t seen anything, not until I saw you walking away

Of all the days to notice the skies, the clouds were immanent, immense, with all the right curves.

FOR YOU MY DREAMER
Things change
People change
All at once
Not at all
And then you're left behind
Too soon again
I'm never who you think i am
I'm never who i think i am either

I'm out of your reach
Like grains of sand
I slip between your grasp
So small
So small

You weren't who i thought you were
But thats okay
Things change
People change
And i may even like you this way better

Nothing is forever
Not truth
Not people
Not even words
Maybe diamonds
Sparkling, Iminent
A promise
Be my diamond
Be my forever

My head turns wild
Turning over rocks
Not meant to be turned
Searching for things
Overthinking things
Never meant to be thought
Here i sit
A danger to myself
And i cant escape me
Things change
People chnage
I change
So I'll shut my eyes
And to sleep, perchance to dream <3

THE LETTER
it tumbled from the sky in the dead of night
it washed up with the tide on a warm summers day
it was daintily written, with a soft scent of rose
it was scratched upon parchment crammed inside a bottle too small
it meant everything, it held your secrets, and your truth
and no one was ever supposed to get a hold of that
it meant nothing to them, just symbols and sentences, of fears, scrambled together
but to me, it was more, each of those symbols a breath of air
each of those blotted periods, an ounce of angst.
The letters spilled out of a drawer,
The letters tied tight with string
The letters with so much potential
The letters, smeared with tears,
The letters never opened,
tumbling to the ground.

NEVER SAY FOREVER
The world has been a good stage to my heart but I fear, the end to this play is soon coming near,

So i'll pack up my bags and turn in my key, and put a sign on my heart that says vacancy,

Emptier now then a drunken glass, drowning fast in an Ocean, i've deflated my raft,

Love is my failure my hopes and my dreams, though it doesn't listen, does not hear my screams.

The end to this pain is soon coming near, and when I close my eyes, It's your voice that I hear.

MOVE
Move,
Move me,
Move with me, i don't care,

Come,
Come on,
You know that life's not fair,

Look,
Look at me,
Take it all in,

Work,
Work with me,
Without you i can't win,

Leave,
Without you,
I'm on my own now,

How,
How can you,
How can you leave me? How?

SKIPPING STONES
Ripples in the water

Ridges in the sand

Sunsets and skipping stones

Seem to go hand in hand

Unspoken words

Are thought about

Peaceful glances too,

There is no where

I'd rather be

Than right here with you.

When my heart is broken

And i'm lying all alone

I'll think of the two of us

Standing here skipping stones.

RUNNING (OUT)
We're running out of time
that is something we never have enough of
Time to carry burdens, Time to lift them off
Time to lie, and time to tell the truth
Speaking of truth I have something to tell you
I want to be with you, for so long, and forever now
Please feel this way
I'm a broken girl
and you're just the fix i need

TELL ME
You walk beside me
Won't hold my hand
You walk beside me
Don't know who I am
Want you to notice
But You don't try
I want to ask you
So now don't lie

tell me....

What do you see when you look right through me?
Is she there?
What do think when i say i love you?
Do you care?
What do you mean when you say it don't matter?
Come on lets not kid
What do you do when you heart stops beating?
Beacause mine just did......

CHANGE AND REGRET
The Whole world changed well you were asleep
So don't open your eyes
Open Your eyes
Again
But your still here
Some things never change
And some things, never stay the same
Clasp My Hand In Yours
And the world is coming back to normal
Whatever the hell that is
They can put up those fences
Hide themselves behind their words
But its all just words
And i can climb a fence
and after all
it's just change and damn regret

SNOW ANGELS
The Heavens Fall
Soft as the midnight sky
Sharp as your tears
Covering the world in a white sheet
At the scene of death
The Heavens Tiptoe
Crashing, devouring
Demolishing you
Wispy smoke of a soul
Take a breath
The Heavens Plummet
The world lives on
Without a trace
And down I lay
As the powder and I

DRAKE
Laughter flits through your life
fluttering into your essence
your covers folded back
your window open
as you breathe life into the landscape

and i feel like I know you

Your room aglow from days gone by
your words of wisdom yellowed at the
edges, curling in upon themselves

Your fountainpen, drips away
the ounces of what was left of you,
And shining brighter on the page
after page, after page
Your crossed out words
mean something more, held
up against the light, shining
brighter...

I feel like I used to know you, before the world
Shut its eyes and fell asleep

The stale taste of what was you,
once upon a time, where nothing
ends up happily ever after...your
covers strewn, your smashed window
closed
me off
I never knew you...like the sun never knew the moon.

ICE BLUE EYES
You looked through me with those eyes when you said we never were,
you searched me with those eyes when you gave me up for her,
you pierced me with those eyes when you said loving you was a crime,
I spend every second with those eyes now that we are running out of time
as you shut those wizened eyes tears fall down, I start to cry,
the last thing that had me holding on, those truthful ice blue eyes!

UNDERSTAND
with the faintest whisper of understanding.

a single breath of the truth will destroy you.

and i have been waiting on you since

forever has only been one day too long.

this shop of feelings hold so much more now

and now i can't afford a thing

i'll bring home something good.

and i'll spend every second wanting to go back

when i belong here.

or so i tell myself.

wondering

about answers i will never aqquire.

basking in the essance of a word.

and loving you, yes

always lovingyou.

promising noithing,

accepting everything.

The language is just advanced enough to feel mature without feeling like you had a thesaurus next to you the whole time, like some poems can be. I enjoy the imagery here. That said, though, I feel that...there isn't any kind of rhythm. I know that not all poems must follow conventional metering patterns, but this just...doesn't flow quite right into my skull, if you know what I mean. Maybe you can chop up your lines a bit to even it out?

thanks! (: Oh, i know what you mean, a lot of my poetry doesnt come out just right, it comes without that rythm, but if i work harder structuring my poems, they are as...hm, well written. i really appreciate your compliment, its really nice to hear that about my work, expecially that its mature. thank you!
