i dont belive theres a thread for this
i record in this studio but i engineer everything myself now, my question is what is the best way you guys record distorted guitar, now for those of you who play guitar and have attempted to record you now how difficult this task is. Any tips?? |

Age: 30 Gender: - Posts: 1821 | July 5th, 2007 at 10:15pm I'm not exactly sure what the best way to record distorted guitar is. I mean, if you're doing it live, just get a good sound guy who really knows what he's doing so that all you have to do is play and it'll sound right.
Pro tools is also good if you're recording, but it does cost some good amount of money. It's pretty much all done on computers and what have you, but from experience it does work.
It's really not THAT hard to record distorted guitar, I mean, when I'm in the control room with bands that are recording, just make your amp to where it'll let the guitar sound distorted, and, I mean, it should work.
What problem are you having that it makes it hard to record distorted guitar? |

and if u dont know what that is then its just like pro tools but just for macs
and how i recorded i hocked up mics to the amp and rcordeed that way
but in logic theres a way to creat your own settings but when i do that it comes out more fuzzy than crunchy if you know what i mean |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 59 | October 18th, 2008 at 07:43pm If you're recording into a mike it might be a problem with the sound getting from your amp to the microphone, cause that can screw the distort or make it overly fuzzy. If you're recording straight into say a 4-track or your computer, you shouldn't have any problems and if you do it'll be the settings on whatever device you're using. |
