A thread dedicated to MUN and a chance to talk about conferences: the good ones, the bad ones, the legendary ones.

So yeah, anyone have a MUN at their school?

I never had one in my high school, but as part of one of my college classes, we went on a field trip to the REAL thing in New York. We didn't get to sit in on any conferences, but we got to talk to some of the conference members and we got a tour of the building. It was very interesting.

I went to MUN in Nashville. I represented Israel.
Very interesting experience, all in all.

Our school hold an annual conference that's completely run by the students - admin, media, security and delegates obviously. They only really have teachers on campus for safety reasons. I think it's a great opportunity and you meet some awesome people. We usually get kids from all over the world from Ireland to Greece to America. It was my last conference this year though. Sad Sad

We do a reigonal one every year here.
Students from different schools get to partake in the MUN, so I've heard it's a lot of good fun.
My friend went and did it, and she said it was one of the best things she's done.
Apparently the two guys representing Russia and I think it's Turkey got into a major - yet valid - argument.

I'll be taking part in it next year. (:
