DIE! DIE! DIE! Bleeding on the Floor Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 1067 | So my mom's friend is 80 years old and very rich. Her neighbor had a benefit banquet for Bush of which he attended. She picketed it. A week later, she found she had been blacklisted, wiretapped, and DENIED SOCIAL SECURITY because of that. This woman is dying, but she is being denied money to pay for her hospital visits/etc because she did not agree with the president. My uncle is blacklisted for attanding an anti war protest. At this moment, over 3 million American homes are being wiretapped. Ok, so let's talk wire tapping. Is it right in the way it has been handled? Do all of the people being wiretapped deserve it? Is it right to wiretap someone for disagreeing with the administration? |
Chapstique Jazz Hands Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 386 | I think that people have a right to their own opinion without being denied social security. I think that is just unjust. Isn't America supposed to be a free country? |
ThinkxHappyxThoughts Joining The Black Parade Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 204 | What is wrong with this country when someone disagrees with someone in power and they are denied something they've been paying for all their life? Wire-tapping, black-listing, denying social security, just MORE liberties we're having taken away. |
genresR4losers Motor Baby Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 817 | i don't think it's right at all... because i know that i've been on my fair share of picket lines. i don't think that just because you disagree with someone that they have the right to take things away... and exactly as ThinkxHappyxThoughts said, we've been paying for it all of our lives, so what gives the government any right to take it away now. Wire tapping is an invasion of privacy. I can't seriously imagine that there are 3 MILLION homes in the US that are suspected of things serious enough to be tapped. sometimes, it is called for, but seriously, 3 MILLION is a bit much. i think that as always, it is just a matter of the government getting out of control... but if you want to check out my views on that, check out that has america fallen thread... either way you go, wire tapping is just an invasion of privacy and completely unnecessary in most instances. things have gone too far. |
Go fuck yourself Devil's Got Your Number Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 37823 | no but they are taking precations in my opionon, we want to be free right? we want to be safe? it can be very unneeded, but can also be very much needed |
genresR4losers Motor Baby Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 817 | yeah... but in most instances they take things too far. i think that like all other things, it needs to be done in moderation. which means that like all other things, it won't be done in moderation, which means that it has gone too far. |
caseyofoz Killjoy Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 8 | Welcome to the Patriot Act, ladies and gentlemen. I personally loathe wire tapping and anything else that violates the Constitution. America's founders worked hard to put together a government that could grow into a better democracy. Not a tyranny. And if we Americans still live under a democracy, then we should all speak out about this kind of issue. You kind of lose all your power when you blacklist the entire population. |

Girl Anachronism Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 509 | A friend of mine and I had it happen one day during the summer while we were on the phone. No we weren't being listened to, but we were messing around with the phones and pressing random buttons and the phones started getting all staticy and then we heard two people just talking as clear as heck about going fishing and wondering if the guys mom was going with, and what-not-ness. For like half of the time I thought she just put the phone up a t.v. or something and I was telling her to stop, but I could hear her talking muffled in the background saying what the heck and telling me to take the phone away from the t.v.. I ended up hanging up eventually and called her back and we were both like... wtf??? ((true story)) Anyways, wire tapping is NOT right. I mean for all I know we could of got into someone else's conversation that was actually quite personal and not about fishing. It's pretty bad, and honestly, no one should seriously deny someone of social security. Thats just effing horrible. |
Girl Anachronism Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 509 | ignore this. |
ChildVision Really Not Okay Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 657 | wo, I've been to thousands of anti-war marches or benifests its most certainly NOT right. America is supposed to be FREE. |
Jesse Lacey; Awake and Unafraid Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 12077 | It is SO BEYOND wrong and un-Constitutional to do that. If I go to the local Wal-Mart and the checkout clerk is a terrorist, or if I (have a brain cell and) don't agree with the President or the Government, then OBVIOUSLY I'm about to start 9/11 again. It's ridiculous! |
Video Kid Shotgun Sinner Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 7328 | DIE! DIE! DIE!: Okay, that's ridiculous. That is technically protected by the first amendment, which the officials OBVIOUSLY didn't follow. |
SFXtra Motor Baby Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 770 | please explain: what is wiretapping & blacklisting? |
lolis12007 Really Not Okay Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 655 | i think it is wrong becasue wasn't America for freedom? or what about the 1st amendment? freedom of speech? i live in the U.S. and i don't agree with any political comments about war;immigration;homosexuals; or any other topic making other people inferior or unwanted. this is so hypocritical becasue the politics sometimes say oh we are fighting for peace or thing like that...but FIGHTING for PEACE?? so hypocritical |
pheartehgrimace Killjoy Age: 35 Gender: Male Posts: 82 | give it a year, I find that the country has a free-o-meter that bounces around based upon who apparently runs the show for their 4 to 8. reminds me of the simpsons movie "The Government finally found someone it was looking for!" |
baby ruthless Salute You in Your Grave Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 2563 | My friend and i were talking about Frerard on the phone [yes i know] on then we're like oh shit what if government officials are listening?!?! i think they should only tap into someone's phone line if they have a motive because i think it's just invasion of privacy if they do it just because |
Ghostgirl191 Jazz Hands Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 288 | DIE! DIE! DIE!: what exactly is wiretapping? because i've heard about it, but no one has really given me a clear picture |
love on her arms. Bleeding on the Floor Age: 29 Gender: Male Posts: 1662 | DIE! DIE! DIE!: Wow that a terriable story... No it hasnt been handled right. Well...Some people do deserve to be wired tapped. Honestly im all for wiretaping suspected terrorists. It Defiently not fair to wiretap people who disgree with the administration because that goes against the whole constitution. |
Diana_a7x Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 456 | x.betterifistay.x: JUST DEPENDS but if they just tap in just because they feel like it, then yes they are invading people's privacy |
