I have come up with a reason for the school bell during a particularly boring class the other day. I figure that everybody has been bored with at least one class in their lifetime. Well, this is why the school bell was made. Of course, over the years it has changed from something that required a lot of effort to ring to something that's on a timer and goes off by itself, but the purpose that it serves has never changed. I myself have died of boredom many times during my school life, but I still manage to pick up on a few things. For instance, the entire lesson, people can be sitting there with their heads resting on textbooks that are way to large and not paying any attention at all. I could probably poke them with a stick and they still wouldn't notice. However, as soon as the bell rings, the same people who were non responsive during the lesson jump up and hoot out of the classroom before you can say too much about it. From this, I assume that the bell was made with the expressed purpose of resurrecting people who have previously died of boredom, as it seems to do.
