Now, this may seem strange, but I'm going to say My Chemical Romance and here's why. They get lumped in with very shitty bands with no substance and written off for how they're supposedly "emo" or "goth". They sound nothing like Embrace(emo) or the Sisters of Mercy(goth). They are very talented musicians, Ray is one of the best modern guitarists. Idiot fans who don't know how to shut up about their looks, don't know proper grammar, don't know how to detect sarcasm, and who get pissy every time somebody cracks a playful joke at the band's expense, help give the band a bad name.
Out of all the shitty music fom this FAKE "emo/screamo" scene, they are the one of the few bands who deserve to be remembered and put in the Hall of Fame. They are underrated by the mainstream. |

They're not in Canada. They're everywhere here. But that's because they're from here.
Moneen is seriously underrated. They're an amazing band... but no one knows of them. Along with the Cancer Bats, Illscarlett, Flashlight Brown, Closet Monster, Attack in Black.. basically a lot of the Canadian bands don't get enough exposure. |

But...desregarding how often or how seldom they're heard of, people usually don't give them a second glance.
A lot of people are immediately turned off by the lead singer's accent.
I know I was at first.
But once you get past that, they're brilliant.
And I've come to adore that accent.
They're not very widely known here, though they may be in other places.
But either way, I think it's the manner in which people are so prone to instantly disliking the lead singer's twang that make The Decemberists so underrated.
If that reasoning makes any sense at all. |

Flyleaf-The girl (i fergot her name) has an amazing voice especially when she screams yet there not noticed alot
Circa Survive-great band vocals are really great but there also rarely noticed ever
