Do y'all think that my chem should continue making concept albums or do single songs that talk about different situations? and Why?
I think that they should continue concept albums because it is awesome! |

I like The Black Parade, just not as much as Bullets and Revenge.
I would have to say, do single songs.
Even though concept albums flow together nicely, I like one song having a completely different meaning than the next.
I don't know, but I can't tell them what to do.
I will be mainly happy with whatever they put out! |

Thats a little random, but still.
If you listen to 'Early Sunsets' then something like 'Welcome To The Black Parade' its different.
His voice, although it sounds better in some senses, in my opinion is a little void of emotion.
Bullets is my favorite because you can just tell that he put everything into the song.
Not just his voice.
The screams, the pain you can tell hes feeling.
TBP dosnt have that.
Although this has nothing to do with concept or non-concept albums, it does have to do with albums.
I want another bullets, and I think having individual songs would mean more emotion into each one about what they are feeling.

that happens with a lot of singers though -- their voices change or they have surgery (hence m. shadows from avenged sevenfold) |

Age: 30 Gender: Male Posts: 1248 | June 8th, 2007 at 05:34pm I'd love to see MCR tackle a non-concept album. Demolition Lovers carried on through mixed song, and the concepts were confusing. I really don't see the Patient's troubles in the Black Parade. Pain, misery, and suffering should be sung about more, but they need to look on the brighter side a little, know what I mean? |

Honestly I have no problem with concept albums.
I just hate that Gerard's voice had matured.
Well, I dont hate it persay.
Because I still love him as a singer and frontman.
And a person.
And hes still good.
I just liked it better before.
Its actually not his voice, but the emotion behind it. His voice can stay the same, its just...I find it a little dull. |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2557 | June 8th, 2007 at 05:45pm I rarely listen to TBP. I listen to it while I work out and stuff, for the beats, but when I actually want to hear My Chem in the way that they changed me, I blast bullets.
When I first listened to them, they helped me because you could tell Gerard's voice was so full of anguish and raw emotion.
It carried into Revenge a little too.
TBP didnt do anything but provide more songs on my iPod and a catchy tune.
Im afraid the days of bullets are gone though.
And that depresses me.

Maybe I should make a thread for this. oO |

to be honest i don't really see what you mean since i think differently. i see the patient's troubles being sung, and i like the fact that not everything they write is piss happy. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2616 | June 8th, 2007 at 05:58pm The thing about Gerards voice for me is that its matured, completely agree with the person who said it.
I think I loved Bullets & Revenge way more than TBP because Gerard wasn't really singing. It was more emotion & raw stuff than tuneful singing. TBP made Gerard stick to a melody & sing it. I think that's why I didn't like it as much. It's so hard to describe. I get it XD
& I like their CDs like Revenge - half concept, half life. Bullets is similar too. If theres underlying concept its better i think. It gives you two things to think about - Concept & life issues |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 320 | June 8th, 2007 at 11:44pm personally i love concept albums. i feel like they tell a story
and i get pulled right in and connect to the music more. i'm a huge fan
of pink floyd's the wall and it's like reading a book. i love TBP it has a really
intersting concept. although i still adore bullets and revenge. i'm not quite
sure what i want them to do next. because another concept album following
something as huge as TBP would be pretty difficult to have it up to those standards. |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2476 | June 9th, 2007 at 12:46am i would personally like another concept album for a few reasons... when making a concept album, they can elaborate on what they want to say... and they can make sure everything is said.. with an album where the songs are not connected, only pieces are told, and it wouldnt mean as much to anyone...
it is also hard to listen to albums with single songs on it straight through... it would be hard to catch the full meaning of any song because of the variety of subjects... on concept albums, you akready know the basis if the songs meaning, which allows you to go more indepth with the meaning...
i personally would like them to do another concept album for the reasons stated above... to me, they seem to hold more meaning and are easier to listen to... and even if it doesnt live up to TBP standards, it shouldnt matter... if it has a different concept to it that TBP does, then it doesnt have to match up to it... it just has to have full meaning in what it was meant to say... |

that is my favourite type of album. |

yeah kinda...sorta like the black parade where each song is a chapter in the paients life, but not a tight... i like it when songs have a strong meaning when they stand alone. |
