Because it's just the most beautiful song he's ever written and it's what's made me feel so worthwhile when everyone else seems to see right through me.
Usually I'm the Invisible Kid (my nickname) cuz someone will sit up and look at me, properly, and say "How long have you been there??? I never noticed, Jesus, you're like a ghost!!! You need to talk more!!!"
And that hurts. Deep.
But when he was singing those Goddamn beautiful words, the words HE wrote, and he's singing them at me, at us, it's like I'm the most special kid on the earth, and I can do anything, and I can smile and say "I'll do it for you, for all five of you, I can do this."
And I can really believe it.
To have that song, played right there, on my hospital bed, with him knelt beside me and the band just crying and playing their hearts out all around us... and just one goodbye kiss... just one, i would die and i would be glowing all over, like a star as i left for the oblivion, the eternal bliss...
Oh, what I would give for that. |
