Ludo is a power-pop rock band from St. Louis, Missouri that is known for harmony-driven tunes with strong lyrics and an extensive touring schedule that has developed a solid fan base (known as Ninjas).
Ludo (the name was inspired by the giant muppet in the movie Labyrinth) has gone through a number of changes as it has developed over the years. It started as a duo of lead vocalist and guitarist Andrew Volpe and guitarist Tim Ferrell, but has expanded to a five-piece group with Tim Convy on moog, bassist Marshall Fanciullo and drummer Matt Palermo.
The band started out "armed with a van, two ferrets and a DIY three-song demo" in 2003, and released its debut self-titled album that summer on St. Louis independent label Redbird Records. In the run up to their second recording, Broken Bride (a rock opera EP released in 2005), Ludo began to make its mark on the music scene outside of St. Louis. The band, still touring constantly, won contests to play at South by Southwest and to have a video produced by Fuse, played at the Winter X Games, appeared as part of the Warped Tour and were named "The Next Big Thing" by Fuse. Ludo recently finished recording their second full-length album, "You're Awful, I love You", in Los Angeles with Island Records and producer Marc McClusky. It is set to be released February 26, 2008. The first single off the record is the song "Love Me Dead", which is currently available for download for free at purevolume.com. You can now find the video for "Love Me Dead" here on youtube.
Ludo is known to its fans for being extremely interactive, contributing to web forum discussions and swiftly answering fan questions.
Several of the songs on Ludo's debut album were originally written and performed by Volpe's previous band, Karate Lunchbox. Recently, the band has signed with Island Records

haha i just saw them on jay leno. they sang love me dead. he had to change vomit to omelettes and finger banging to finger painting lol. oh and he started to mix up the verses but andrew caught himself. they must of been so nervous. They were still excellent.
On their new cd, don't know if it's their debut or not, they kind of sound like The Matches at times, then Motion City Soundtrack, then a little like Bowling For Soup.
Some of their songs on that album scare me (I'm sure you know which ones I'm talking about) but I like them.
Their style isn't what I usually like, but I've given them a chance and I am happy I did so.
Anyone see love me dead on the new House commercial?
OMG YES!!! That's my FAVORITE show in the history of the world!!!!!!! That's actually how I found out about Ludo! Everytime I listen to Love Me Dead I laugh because it SOOOOO reminds me of House. I LOVE HOUSE!!! But, I guess you can tell by my signature! lol
