Protest of Heart

We're standing up for something
We think we feel is strong,
While others will oppose us
For what they see as wrong.

How can anyone decide
What's wrong if they go
By what they have been told?
How can they surely know?

We choose to persevere
Through harsh beatings and lines
With our non-violent way
Of holding up picket signs.

Why, Why, Why?
Let's go! We'll not fight!
I'll defend my heroes
Today-Tonight!

We may not have everyone
Behind us and on our side,
But we have true support.
Look now! We have won!

Past Reflection

There’s no shoulder to lean on,
No arms to fall back in,
I’ve lost my balance,
And now, my position.

I’m left no sweet sorrow,
For I’ve earned much worse-
Grief and regret,
Lies I can’t forget.
The arms to catch me
Form with their hands
Guns, which can trigger
To shoot me, I figure.

The way to describe it
Could be endless agony,
But now, your hands
Don’t pain me.
Those hands can’t take
On the shape of firearms.
They are delayed
By razor blade scars.

You cut and bleed,
And like a tree,
Your arms hit the ground-
On the floor they’ll be.
I take them up,
Put the gloves on,
Form them back to a gun,
And pull back at dawn.

When I release,
Pieces of you shatter.
Your face is gone,
And I’ll forget for the better.
You lay in front of me
My heart has insisted.
It’s not amnesia.
You simply never existed.

Weathered Ties

The hail is beating
At my window.
The attempts are heating
Up to break me.

The gentle voice
Of the rain's sorrow
Has turned to harsh
Tones I'll not follow.

Begging has turned to pleading,
Fair play has turned to cheating,
The light now wants vengeance,
And I am done retreating.

I'm deflecting your bolts
And hurling them at you.
As for my last words,
I'd say, "We're through."

Touched by the Moonlight

In scenes of black-painted skies,
The silver thread, which twists in the wind
And covers her soft, angelic outer shell,
Is seemingly endless as her attainable.

Radiant glows, partially disguised
From my vision, crowd her being,
And silence embraces her words
When her lips mimic mortals.

She is everlasting like her tale,
Which is sealed within white lines of boundary.
She catches my tear drops with the luminous,
Overcoming rays from her eyes.

Buried in the Distance

A heart that kindles a burning soul
Wrapped in a package of questions
Never filled with answers
But covered in mysteries and riddles they say.

Unpleasant passings of time go by,
And locked away are the keys
To the doors they wish to pass through
But are mocked by and rejected.

"If only..." comes to speak to them daily,
Yet "beware" pushes through with arrogance.
When the end has come and leads them away,
The box disappears in the tomb behind them.

Vanity Affair *revised*

I'll grit my teeth as you take a bow.
Your golden smile takes the next step.
Bearing praise and adoration pleases you
(And viewing your reflection in the glass).

The artificial scene embodies your life.
Remorse does not take place
As conceit extracts your conscience
And conceals your regrets.

Your slip of the tongue reveals your truths,
Then shock and tears overcome.
The summit is fading to ash,
And flames of light have only scratched the surface.

Lethal Operation

Your eyes are vacant and murky.
The sounds of hushed tones move your notions.
When red-cloaked visions urged
Your walk to succeed blindly,
You followed the future footsteps
And blanketed the trail with shadows.
The deserted rooms you approached when
You first came have become blurry by your sight.
Echoing behind halts the process,
And the volume extends to reach
Your doubting ears.
Gasps for breath from the building pressure
And rhythmic beats proceed.
The throbbing blood in your veins is your lock,
And the fleeting hallway escapes your memory.
The thoughts given wings but feathers left
In your skull. The stranger is ever vigilant
Beyond the absent gateway.

Artistic Oppression

In desperate pursuit of provisions,
I roamed the street of the broken ragged.
Airs of ego constantly sneering
About my coarse appearance.

One being casually strolling yields.
A hand reaches to insist that I grasp.
A savior has embedded meaning for existence!
A haven of shelter will become my new coat.

When brought to the destination however,
I've found his gentle words invalid.
Pacing the enclosed space in vain weakens,
So I lie to huddle strength.

You beckon, and I forcibly oblige to your whim.
Your form of expression is my suffering.
My breath is fading along with ease,
But your memento will lie on my sleeve-
A badge of tribulation.

Educated Ignorance and Hidden Blaze

As you enter the maze of treachery,
Do not drape society over your shoulders
And caress its warmth.
Your ever changing colors may cause
Confusion among the weak-minded.

Remarks that aim to please
Fall short of the eye.
Stance reminds to the few
Glances taken by the jaded
Of purpose, and they are skeptical.

Despair haunts the halls
And leans to persuade destruction,
But within your misguided heart
Is a sleeping spirit of flare.

Allow the roaming light to abandon
The den and shape to fit
A form of magnificence
Not requiring blindfolds but
Shunning condescending stares,
And unrestrained delight will complete
Your emptiness.

Ridden of the Average State

Contemplating under the shelter of my window.
Dust and embers settle upon this town
I peacefully exist within.
Fog reaches each glass square of neighbors'.

I stare into the ellaborate sheets
That have withstood blows from the
Emerald demons with charcoal in the furnace
Of their bellies.

You've woven the fibers and carefully crocheted
Fear and agony into this warming cover.
Recognition never satisfies unless
Consumption snares.

The vines of the hazy ghost encroach upon my fortress.
Will they burst through so only sparkling shards
Remain, bind and chain me
With terror's leaves, develop a chokehold,
And slowly engulf me?

Or will my shield unweave the fibers,
Wrap around delicate, fair skin and constrict
'Til my body's wine spurts from the pores
And flows like an inlet to reach the cotton?

I can't help but wonder,
"When will the mist of this phantom reach my window pane?"
Encounters down the block continue,
Yet I hold my anxiety and withdrawn emotions.

Will the rotation obstruct my clarity?
Am I unusual, too exotic
For the countdown 'til the routine?
Is my sky fading to grey?

The vapor creeps up like ivy growing on my castle,
But wait. It retreats the presence,
Like an optical illusion, about me.
The stained glass of my sanctuary remains clear.
My special touch is no disease but a gift.

The Gathered Unforgiven

Though our viciousness is displayed
Throughout the years like turmoil,
Ignorance lay no bliss in your
Undeniably fragile thoughts.

When our fellow companions tear
Deep within your shell to search
For key components of life,
They seethe your burn and ravenously
Delight in this custom.

Yes, kind, sweet ignorance betraying
With gentle gestures and
Uniting instinctive behavior
We cannot repress the means of.

Your perspective is lack of basic
Understanding and conscience.
Flooding the lands with massacres
Of no consequence or jurisdiction.

Shall we contain our ways
And fathom society’s?
No, grim, perplexing feelings
Enter our bloody dreams.

Everlasting struggles with humanity
And prayers from the lips of angels
Persist. We resist our urges, but
Senseless anarchy revives
Within less than minutes,

When a killing is performed
Before this audience.
For amusement and entertaining us
Is only possible in this gauge.
Limits cannot survive as they starve our pride.

Your bloodshot eyes catch
But a glimpse of our untamed
Beauty and splendor,
If so fortunate a site
Should come over you.

Our community withdraws from
Overrun tar roads and
Beings held hostage by the seconds.
Ours consists of blades of green and a
Navy atmosphere decorated with light.

Sparks overwhelm the near-sighted,
But few stretch their vision
To view such glory as ours.
Hear out the cliché of ignorance and
Such nostalgia you feel from these words.

The Gathered Unforgiven: Its awesome. I love the vocabulary and the way you've convoluted them. Your thoughts are just splendid...xD!

Desires For A Better Reality

The brewing fires in the alleys
Result from the taxes piling towers
From the marksman’s scores of
Sacrificed soldiers and worshiped weapons
For adversity along international lines.

Applauding the poverty
Serves the vile audience
To encourage again the sounds
Of crackling of the rifles
Among the distant nations.

Silty costumes in the tariff theater
Symbolize the honor and loss
Of valuable heirs stricken with
Tasks seemingly dispatching grandeur.

Tolls descend like angels on their battlefield,
Whether on the streets or the unknown terrain,
And feeble eyes mustn’t daze
Nor insanity cleanse their judgment.

Will the days tour the
Overlooked graves of rended
Civilians and servants,
Along with their blood?

Calamities occur incessantly,
But will democracy fly the bleached flag?
If we overthrow the thorned crown,
Maybe peace will be hailed.

Desires For A Better Reality: As I said. The metaphors took my breath away.
As if you were actually looking at people dying from war right in front of your eyes. Very beautiful.

Constructing Destruction

When the oak tree shakes violently in the brutal winds,
Its roots refuse all temptation,
And its buds of hair float forever
Isolated out of weakness.

The Sun subjects the poor creature
To storms of overbearing warmth,
And the fluids of comfort spiral
Deep into the desert garden.

No fairytale can present pleasures
To the tree of eternity's indecisive judgment.
Bedouins prepare meals before it,
While the withered green starves.

Peeling bark, darkened shade,
Lost sympathy, shriveled branches and all.
The sound of one thousand hornets
Spurs the thoughts of being complete.

A feel of an acidic touch
Is sent hastily within its fervent core.
A thousand spinning spikes run through,
Requesting they peek at the center.

Shredded by ill will and severe
Intentions of harm, Breath's lover
Deteriorates as poisoned clouds
And metallic bonds outlast
The tremors of decisions of the committee.
