Hi,
it's become clear the staff that there have been quite a few incidents of people requesting files/tracks in the General Questions and Answers thread and in a few other places around the site.
Just a gentle reminder that file sharing is illegal and obviously we cannot have it on INO. If files are shared here we are open to prosecution. Therefore we request that you do not ask for or offer illegal file sharing here.
The rules state that repeatedly sharing files will lead to a ban, but we're sure it would never have to come to that.
Like I said, just a quiet reminder to keep us all on track and to stop INO having any problems in the future.

.psd's are like word documents.
if the content of the word document was somebody else's and was copyrighted, you couldn't send it, but not just because it was a word document. same for .psd's.
I'm not a mod, clearly, so this is not any kind of official, but I'm pretty sure this is how it is. |

Not quite sure since I don't use photoshop. well, I'm a photoshop user, and as far as I can tell, it really depends on those. they may be copyrighted, but usually not by adobe (though adobe DOES make fonts, but you don't generally see people using those around here, they're pretty damn expensive and all). they're copyright to whoever made them, and if the maker is fine with it, it's perfectly legal to share them.

I'm pretty sure it just means the program files, meaning the full cracks/installations.
If you're uploading a file such as the premade layers (the psd's are what I mean), brushes, fonts, etc, I don't think it's such a problem, as long as they're yours and not from a site with copyrights. If the site says no redistributing, then no redistributing on here. Linking font sites, brush sites, etc, is fine as well.
If you're uploading someone's files and claiming them as your own, then that's a no no as well. If you're uploading paid content from photoshop's site (I think that there's some), then that's a no too. Same applies with the PSP/GIMP/any other image editing components.
All this applies with games, other programs such as Word or Excel, and softwares. |
