t'lema Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2109 | ^Well, that's fair, not many people know how to define asexuality, even people who identify that way. It's an orientation with a lot of grey areas. Nobody knows what causes it, some people think that just like there are people with incredible high sex drives, they are just born with low sex drives (maybe the opposite of someone with nymphomania? I'm not sure if that works here) or yes it could be a hormonal thing, taking hormones could produce more sexual desire, but often that's not wanted (at least from the asexuals I know/have heard about) But yes, it is often defined as a complete lack of libido. Some may have occasional arousal, but that's a physical thing. They aren't interested in other people sexually. tear: Sorry no (did you read the first post? I tried to explain it there) Asexuals can have friends, and be in trusting relationships, they just have no desire for sex. It's not that they can't be in relationships, they just don't want sex. It's like understanding being gay, a person is attracted to the same sex, and wants to engage in sex with them. With asexuals, they are sexually attracted to neither sex, and don't want to engage in any sexual act. |
