ok so from what i heard 2 teachers got sacked for having an affair over soapbox, a chat system for teachers at my school, and i think that it was just wrong that they even had the realtionship... But im not saying that teachers cant have relationships cause i know my deputy head and a maths teacher are married and theres probably more...but i mean im not saying i wanna stop them im just saying its kinda not right to be having affairs with other teachers... Why would that matter? if they met on the job, like many people uncluding my parents did, thats perfectly fine and legal.

Even though I don't think cheating is right, I don't think cheating on partners is enough grounds to sack someone...
I mean, personal life is personal life. Even if two teachers are dating each other, unless they're flaunting it shamelessly then I don't see why other people should get involved in other people's business.

Teachers are held up to a certain standard of behavior; that's why they were sacked.

John St. John was saying that they don't see anything wrong with teachers meeting each other on the job. Just because they're seeing each other doesn't mean they're cheating. Not everyone cheats on their significant others.

If they meet each other and they continue acting like teachers, there's nothing wrong. If they don't act how they're supposed to be acting, then that's why you would get fired.

I don't actually understand why this topic is here? Why should teachers be any different to any other people in the work place? Maybe it's because I'm a teacher? Hmmm

I agree with you, Lulah. A lot of teachers at my school are married to each other; my french teacher is married to my PE teacher and my english teacher is married to my maths teacher, for example. A lot of teachers are also dating each other openly. idk why it's such a big deal...

edit: when I say "openly" I mean that most people know they are dating, and they occasionally hold hands when people aren't looking[which I find pretty cute tbh] but they don't like, eat each others' faces off in front of people. Thank god.

Any workplace relationship must be carried out in a professional manner when in view of colleagues, whether you're teachers, cleaners or burger bar workers. Doesn't matter.

Its fine, as long as they aren't cheating on their husbands wifes, BF, GFs...

Teachers are human, so why not? If they like each over, and not in relationship (Or if they are, end it before), then okay.
