ok
those are good tips
but i meen i'm the singer/ base player (i hope im spelling base right)
julie is the drummer (even thoug she don't know how to play)
and sam is the guitarest ( she is beeter at guitar then i am)
sam is also my back up singer.
which brings up a question
How many members do u need and what instrments are important if u want to creat a good band (besides drummes)

I've been in a band but it didn't work out.

One thing I learned is that if someone hasn't even began to learn the instrument they are gonna be playing in a band, don't ask them to join. They could learn the instrument but never be any good at it or it could be all talk. I'm not saying it is, she could end up be amazing.

it's not always the best idea to play with people who are friends. It doesn't always matter whether or not you KNOW them or not, what matters is how each member of the band flows with one another. You can have a best friend who plays drums, and you play guitar, but you don't flow instrument wise together, meaning... I guess there really isn't a way of telling, but.. you can kind of just sense when a number of muscians don't work well together....

its your desicion but the number of memebers dosent matter the main point is playing in a band ,and there are no important insurments every instrument has music into it that too is the main point.
the band im in has
me-Guitar/vocals
friend-Bass/back up vocals
friend-drums
best friend-Guitar
the first time you make a band is hard so dont think that once you have a band everyone will at once know what to play and how to play a song. It will take time to get everyone in your band to follow through you have to come up with the timing of meeting up,band rehearsals, money for instruments, instruments, and where the rehearsal and meeting up will be at.

having too much of an idea of what you want the band to be like will limit your options. In a band you need to be open and willing to work with whatever comes your way.

Keep in mind if your band has a female frontwoman or the majority of the band is female, you are at risk of being classified as a chick band. Unless that's what your looking for, your gonna want to brek the mold and prove yourself.

How young is to young to start a band??

I mean im planning to get outta my house by 15 and devote my life to music regardless(dosnt mean im going to drop outta High School)... but I mean im 13 now.. so is it to young... should I let my voice mature? Or should I go for it and spend the next 2 years of my life in band practices and writing songs? The sound im looking for my band with definatly be more of a punk rock kind of sound.. but Im not sure what my friends and the fam would say
