Its not really that funny, but the first time I asked him to take a picture with me, my friend took it and shes a retard with cameras so she didnt actually take it, but thought she did. On our way out I went to look at it and it wasnt there so I went back to get another one.
There were like a million kids there and it took forever to get to him, but when I did, I told him it didnt work so I tried to take it again and I couldnt get it to take the damn picture.
He finally was like "here, let me take it, I have long arms" and stole the camera out of my hands and got it in like a second. Then I called him a camera whore and he smiled, haha.
Yeah... not really that funny, but I like telling stories.
HOLY SHIT...other people like Cobra Starship? Oh man, I'm in heaven.
My experience-they came to Des Moines a few months ago, and at the time I was pretty pumped to see them. I'd preordered the album and gotten the cobra chain. I was the only one of my friends who'd heard any of their stuff besides Bring It (Snakes on a Plane). I get in and instantly start looking around for Gabe, because it's the type of venue where the bands hang out inside. The tour bus is out front, and it's the biggest fuckin' tour bus this venue has ever seen. I'm just standing there, telling my friend that the guy by the bar is NOT Gabe, when the real Gabe walks in and comes right the fuck by me...that motherfucker is tall. I'm just kinda staring at him most of the entire show. He danced like crazy to Men Women and Children and so everyone got dancing. Later, my friends and I talked to Elisa for like 10 minutes without realizing she was in the band. She was super drunk. They play the show and we're all literally blown away. I freaked out pretty extensively when Church of Hot Addiction came on, and I incitied all of my friends to dance as well. Ryland [still dispute over whether that's his name or not-the guitarist in any case] adored my shirt and kept pointing me out. They had fun banter [best quote- "that chick was a tall motherfuckin glass of waataaaaaa"] and played an excellent show. They were getting done when I shouted "PLAY HOLLABACK BOY!" Gabe looks straight at me, looks at the band, and runs back onstage to play half of it for me. I nearly passed out. I got my 2nd hug from Gabe [the first one was considerably more awkward...before the show], who warned me of his sweatiness. We went over to the merch stand, hugged all of them, and they gave us a shitload of free things. They signed my poster, and Ryland complimented my name on it. We all got hurried out, because under 21s had to leave at 9. We went out, wrote in the dust on their bus, got caught, and ran to the car, where we blasted the CD and threw up the fangs at them from the car, which they returned. The poster has a place of honor on my wall, and their stickers are all over my guitar stuff. I wear my cobra chain all the time, and they're now in my top 5 favorite bands.
