I didn't like the first album too much(Nikki FM was the best song, Silver Bullet I found was the worst) but If Only You Were Lonely is BRILLIANT! And JT's old band...A Day In the Life was sooooo kick ass! So different but so good.

Yes.
I saw them live on March 18 at the Black Clouds & Underdogs Tour.
The singing was totally off key and the instrumentals were very mediocre.
That`s my opinion. |

That`s my opinion. I saw them live, and wasnt very impressed. I dont think the crowd moved an inch during the whole set, and they failed to get any kind of audience interaction. I was very dissapointed =[ |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 385 | August 30th, 2006 at 10:48pm I have nothing but respect and admiration for Hawthorne Heights. They're such polite guys! I admire the way they genuinely care about their fans.
I adore J.T. Woodruff. I mean it. I got to have a little talk with him a while back, right when they were just starting to get big. He was a real gentleman. I don't use that label lightly.
I love their music, too, but their first album was better. |

Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 79 | February 17th, 2007 at 05:31am So, I have a little story about Hawthorne Heights.
A couple years ago, before they really got popular, they opened for MEST on a small club tour. I'd heard the name before but that was about it. The band I was really excited to see (besides MEST of course) was Punchline, whom I was slightly more familiar with, and I was pretty impressed (with Punhline) so after they played I went to the merch table to buy one of their cd's. I chatted with the guy at the merch table a bit and he recommended one of the Punchline cd's. He was being kind of flirty, asking if I had a boyfriend, etc. Then he asked if I'd heard of Hawthorne Heights before. I told him that I'd heard of them but hadn't heard any of their music. He said, "Well, they're pretty good, I think you'll like them. Oh, and be sure to check out their bass player, he's really cute. Let me know what you think afterwords." And he winked at me (let me just say that at this point in the story everyone I've told it to knows where it's going, so I must be really dense/blonde sometimes, haha). I was just thinking, "okay, that's a little weird" but I said, "Um, sure, I'm looking forward to seeing them." My best friend had come to find me and caught most of the exchange, and after we walked away she said, "Okay, please tell me you picked up what he meant by that comment and the wink." I really didn't at that point, I thought he was just flirting but acting kinda weird. She rolled her eyes and we went back to our seats. Hawthorne Heights took the stage next. "Weird guy" from the merch table, as you probably guessed it, WAS the bass player. Yeah, I totally felt like idiot of the year when I finally put that together. And I didn't see him again after the show either...not that him being in the band would have made any difference, but I really wasn't into him anyway. The end. |
