So i'm taking GCSE music, and I figured it'd be nice to have someplace to talk to other people who have taken it too and how they're coping with the composing/performing side of it as well as the theory. Tell us what instument you're playing and stuff like that so we're all on the same page
So, I'm Zoe and I play guitar. |

Apparently it's takes a lot of dedication to get a good grade; I wish you both the best of luck.

And can you do it in any instrument at all? |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 142 | October 12th, 2007 at 10:29pm you can play any instrument for the exams.
for the practical, you have to play a song of your choice.
then you have a written paper also.
i don't know a huge amount about the paper as i haven't done one yet.
i am not a lot of help i know, but that is all i know about it.

So, that means you could even do it on drums? |

But I'm not totally sure so don't hold me down to that.

For homework we had to write at least a page and a half about the instruments we play and our musical interests. I wrote about a paragraph on my instrument and I spent the rest on how awesome MCR is. I love music |

My mum is a music teacher and she wants me to do Grade 8 theory to help in preparation for the written exam >.<
But hell, I'm looking forward to it. I need to learn how to work sibelius or however you spell it.. |
