Okay so wow.
Last night was the best night of my life. Easily. Eassssilyyyyyy.
I know a lot of people say that about every gig they go to? But seriously.
Nothing can top what I've just been to.
I mean what band give you free shirts, shot from a tube,
spray water on you personally (Billie, rofl. He soaked me.),
and drop personalized confetti on you at the end? Green Day, dats huuuu.
Like holy shit I don't even KNOW where to start.

Me and my friend Lottie got to the Arena at about 4:30-5:00pm and met up with our friend Emma, her mum
and her mum's 3 friends. By this point they were all absolutely hammered. Emma's mum had put
vodka in her water bottle. -ded- It was pretty epic. We could hear them soundchecking songs like
Jesus Of Suburbia, Give Me Novacaine, and something else which I can't remember.
Eventually we got let in about about half 6, and as everyone else needed the toilet me and Emma sprinted to the front,
which was kinda half successful (damn security making us power walk, cause you weren't allowed to run. Wtf?) but w/e,
we still ran, sort of. We looked retarded but we eventually got there and were about 4 or 5 people from the barrier.
I am excited to the point of incontinence at this moment. Blah! :'D
So we wait for what feels like a lifetime until the support, Prima Donna come on. Nobody really cared about them,
but they turned out to be AWESOME. The lead singer Kevin is actually so cool and they got us really hyped up for the guys.
My camera bummed out on me and kept flashing no battery so I saved what power I had left for Green Day, of course.

In between Prima Donna leaving and Green Day coming on, the strangest thing happened.
A fucking random man dressed as a pink bunny came on stage with two bottles of beer and attempted
to amuse us for a while. Dancing to stupid songs and generally making a complete ass of himself. Whatever, it was pretty funny.
Annoying as hell, though. I mean you had to laugh really. xD

So he left, finally. And about 20-25 minutes later the lights went down and everyone in the arena shit a house or something idek,
the noise was complete insanity at its best. The screaming. Like, oh my fucking god it was incredible. I couldn't even think.
Then they came on.
Fucking, what the shit my life like spazzed out of control. I couldn't grasp the fact they were real. :'D
Being so close to the barrier was a slight regret, cause fucking two songs in I actually thought I was going to die,
I've never been that squashed IN MY FUCKING LIFE.
They came on to Song Of The Century and then did 21st Century Breakdown and Know Your Enemy.
After those three, we'd been pushed back (willingly) to about 16 people from the barrier. Still an awesome view, so no worries. At least we could breathe now.

Here's a picture I struggled to take beforehand, lmao. So prettyyyyyyy:
Image
Image

He came over to us at one point and leant over, I fucking thought the end of his guitar was going to hit me in the face. :')

I'll save you the annoyance and just list the stuff that happened. The last thing you'll want is a rant. xD

-- We saw Billie's arse. He decided to moon us. Bare arse we saw. Bare arse. Not gonna lie, that was totally amazing.
-- At one point, Billie was wearing a tiara, Tre was wearing a bra (complete with knickers) and Mike has this weird fluffy headband on.
-- Billie sprayed us with water.
-- Billie blessed everyone with the joys of toilet paper, shot from this weird machine he had, idek.
-- Billie got about 5 people on stage throughout the whole night. One of which he cut all the hair off of.
-- Billie fired free shirts from these tube-gun type things.
-- Billie did a whole lot of things..

One of the kids he got on stage must have only been about 5 years old.
Billie was like "How old are ya kid?" and he just goes "Max Armstrong" and everyone fell about laughing, I mean what're the odds?!
So Billie was like "EVERYONE, MY BROTHER MAX!" and everyone clapped hysterically, it was awesome.
Then he said "Now get off my stage you lil' shit." man it was so funny.
Gah I've forgotten so much but it'll gradually come back to me.
I called a ton of people during the majority of songs. When 21 Guns started everyone was like O M G.
We were like that with every song, though.

The gig was about 2 hours 30-45 minutes, fucking insane but INCREDIBLE.
Two encores, both of which we expected but it didn't stop us from going apeshit.
They ended on Time Of Your Life, of course they did.
And uh, we all died basically. : D

Video somebody I don't know took, just found this on YouTube.

Video I took.

I saw them last night and it was really amazing.
I got there at about 1 to queue, and there was quite a lot of people there already. doors opened at 6, so it was a long wait but it went pretty quick.
I was about 3 people away from the barrier.
it was pretty bad, someone had to be pulled out before anyone even came onstage.
I thought prima donna were shit, they were really unoriginal and cheesy, but their set went quick enough.
then the drunk bunny came on and it was brilliant. xD
so then green day came on not long after, and everyone just went crazy.
I was surrounded by tall people so I couldnt breathe much and there was like hardly any water being supplied. :/
I made it until about the 7th song and then I passed out and had to get pulled out.
so then I sat on the floor for a while drinking water at the side, and then I went back into the crowd but I wasn't right near the front.
but I could still enjoy it and there was a good atmosphere.
and they played geek stink breath! well they played half of it then went into when I come around but I was chuffed.
basket case is really amazing live too.
I've got some pictures and videos. I'll post them here in a bit.

mike dirnt, billie joe, and again, billie joe and girl in banana suit, drunk bunny.
I couldn't get any good ones of tre though.

^ I was at the LG last night too!!!

Heya,

Well where do I start?
That. Was. Fucking. Incredible!

That is all that needs to be said but I'll talk some more because apparently that's not enough.

Mythree friends and I went down to see Green Day yesterday (October 28th at the LG Arena in Birmingham) and it was AMAZING.

We arrived at the LG arena at about four o clock yesterday afternoon and were directed around to a catering door where there was about 200 other people, we were like "Is this it?" well anyway we queued there. After much pissing about on behalf of the door wardens we were let in at six.

We went straight into the arena and I was taken aback at the sheer size of it! It holds 16,000 and it was a sold out show. We got really near the front and I was maybe two people back from the barrier, towards the right hand side of the stage (as you look at it from the audience) where Mike stands and plays.

Well after an immense amount of waiting time Prima Donna came on. It was a little of a poisoned chalice that they had because no one was there to see them and they were quite good but still I wasn't there to see them, the lead singer stripped off his jacket.... it was like; ego, much? I managed to get the barrier during one of there songs and I clung on for dear life until I could stabilise myself on it. I could see EVERYTHING. I was about 2m away from the stage with mean looking security between me and the stage. We were quite a long way to the right which was good because the majority of the crushing was going on in the centre by the plinth but we were out to the side (when they did come on Billie and Mike spent a lot of time down this end anyway - as you will see!)

There was a break as the roadies switched the sets and then the drunk bunny came on hailing the immenent arrival of Green Day. We were all doing the YMCA and singing long to the Ramones.

THEN:

GREEN. DAY. CAME. ON.

It was so weird because I've spent years reading press releases, looking at posters and videos and then for these people to be actually real.. it was very SUReal. I was like "WOW" my heart was beating like six billions miles an hour and I haven't heard a scream as loud as the one that went up from the stadium in FOREVER.

We were stood right by a speaker stack and right underneath a speaker rig but it didn't seem too loud. It was very bearable.

The Set List (as much as I could remember!)

1. Song Of The Century
2. 21st Century Breakdown
3. Know Your Enemy - In which Billie Joe fucked off around the arena followed by a bunch of heavies.
4. East Jesus Nowhere - In this he goes "I need two young kids! I want two young children!", I was like ey-up you could get arrested for that sort of thing!
5. Holiday
6. Boulevard of Broken Dreams
7. Give Me Novacaine
8-17. Random songs fromDookie/Insomniac/Kerplunk/Warning/Nimrod including Longview (the guyBillie pulled up to sing that was really good! and Billie said he was the best they'd ever had!),Basket Case, Brain Stew, When I Come Around, She, Hitchin' A Ride... etc..
18. American Eulogy/Mass Hysteria
19. Minority
20. American Idiot
21. Macy Day Parade
22. Walking Alone
23. Wake MeUp When September Ends
24. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

AllI can say is that it was amazing, I can't really put it downin words how epic it was!At one point Mike came down to my end and he lookedSTRAIGHT AT ME and he looked confused at how I managed to get (and keep) the barrier when everyone was like 5"9 at least and I'm 5"1, he grinned when I waved at him!

Billie kept coming down our end as well but he didn't make direct eye contact with anyone, prefering to sweepinglyglance at the crowd. His blonde hair grew on me.

During Boulevard of Broken Dreams the whole crowd was singing and Billie stopped for a whole two verses. Billie pretended to be knocked over by a wallof sound and lay on the stage. How incredible must it feel to have 16,000 screaming and singing your lyricsback at you? It must amazing.

Billie also said we were better than America when he did his really long HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH
The numberof times he said that were quite unreal.
"HEY OH!" "HEY OH!" "HEY!" "HEY!" "HEY!"

American Eulogy was nuts! Theparty was immense and I got Mike sweat on me. Billie also fired a water pistol directly in our direction. Thepeople around me and me swore at him and he laughed.

During King For A Day it was hilarious, comedy element galore. Trewas wearing a pink bra and thong combo and the crowd started singing GET YOUR TITS OUT and he slid the bra strap down his shirt. Billie said all the guys should get their packs outfor the girls, I was like "Yes Please!"

At the end they were all shouting Thank You and it all felt really involved and like everybody belonged. It wasvery awesome. Then Billie came on his own and played Macy Day Parade and the three others onan acoustic on his own. Everyone was singing so loud it was nuts.

Then it ended. ON AN ABSOLUTE HIGH.

All I would be able to say to them is THANK YOU
AND

BRING ON THE STADIUM TOUR 2010!

ANYWAY
