I don't really like to choose sides very often, and I'm often caught in the middle, especially in politics. But...again, not really sure here. Like, if someone was jailed for like, armed robbery, that's (in my mind, at least) something that doesn't deserve such harsh conditions as a pedophile or murderer should have to endure in jail.... Do you believe the Iraq War was a mistake? I believe that right now, we really shouldn't be fighting in Iraq and should be focusing our attention to Sudan. But in the beginning of the war, I think it was a just cause. Just...not anymore, when our efforts seem like they're being wasted. Do you believe strong policing and military efforts are the best way to stop terrorism? I think there's no way to fully wipe out terrorism, and we should really stop trying to wipe it out completely. However, in regards to stopping another 9/11 attack, I think that strong policies are the best way to help keep that from happening again. Even though I agree with having some civil liberties taken away, I do not believe that one of our main ways of communication should be monitored. First of all, it would be waaaaaay too demanding and stressful and require way too many people to monitor every single call made and every single email sent. Secondly, the reviewers could easily be bribed and let things slip under their radar what with the millions of calls and emails going around every single day. Do you believe abortion should be outlawed? No. But, I do not believe that thirty-five year old women should go out and get knocked up for the sheer fun of having sex and using abortion as a first-and-only birth control option, either. If a woman cannot fully go through with the pregnancy for a legitimate reason (say, if it was a fourteen year old who was raped and still needs to attend high school) then abortion should be allowed, but it shouldn't be overused. There is no reason that same sex marriage isn't legalized other than the fact that religion is getting in the way, saying "homosexuals are bad." Isn't it in the Constitution somewhere that the Church and the State should be completely different entities? Legalizing gay marriage will do nothing but help thousands of Americans become happier. Do you think that the United States is heading in the right direction? Well, it all depends on what aspect you're talking about, in my opinion. As far as the whole thing, well, I guess I just don't really know. I think that yes, we are a pretty good country when compared with other countries around the world, but there are so many things that we are so behind on.... I don't think terrorism can ever be stopped completely. But if we have to go to extremes to save lives or to stop another 9/11 or 7/7 then yes. Absolutely not, but I do think it should only be used as a last resort and not as a form of birth control. Abortion is a serious decision and should be treated as such. I think sometimes though, in order to get ahead, rules need to be bent or changed. People need to be open minded and malleable to keep up and get ahead.
