"AFI: CRASH LOVE
NEW ALBUM NEARING COMPLETION, OUT LATER THIS YEAR
First AFI Live Show of 2009 Confirmed
Davey Havok, Jade Puget, Hunter Burgan and Adam Carson, collectively known as AFI, will be releasing their eighth studio album, CRASH LOVE, later this year on Interscope Records.
The band and producer Joe McGrath were recently joined at Los Angeles’ Conway Studios by the winners of the recent Begin Transmission contest, in which the band members personally went through thousands of fan-made video submissions and chose a handful of entrants to contribute backing vocals to the new album.
The members of AFI also chose Honorable Mentions from the Begin Transmission contestants, each of whom received a handmade Valentine’s Day card by the member of AFI who chose him or her.
AFI will play its first live show of 2009 June 20 at Edgefest in Toronto. Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 28.
CRASH LOVE follows up two consecutive platinum AFI albums, 2006’s DECEMBERUNDERGROUND and 2003’s SING THE SORROW. AFI’s discography also includes the full lengths THE ART OF DROWNING (2000), BLACK SAILS IN THE SUNSET (1999), SHUT YOUR MOUTH & OPEN YOUR EYES (1997), VERY PROUD OF YA (1996) and ANSWER THAT AND STAY FASHIONABLE (1995)."
I'm liking it, we can't really have any expectations with this band because they change like the seasons. So yay or nay? |

but I suppose it depends how you look at it, like, what context you use it in.
but I would've preferred it to be a song name or something.
& hunter said in an interview that there's no intro on the album, and there will be 'something special' for live shows instead. |

Still that's interesting, hopefully they'll bring back STW or Miseria.
I was a little dissapointed when I first heard Crash Love would be the album title but I think AFI can pull it off. They always do something amazing. |

How so?
I think the album title is fine, as is the design for the t-shirts. You know a DFer got it tattooed on her, I think that shows dedication! I don't know if AFI have the potential to dissapoint, I mean all they do is make honest music and they give back to their fans in a way I really haven't seen exemplified by any other band. Musically I think they're pretty diverse I mean Black Sails foward shows such a change in what A Fire Inside really is. They always do something unexpected, I guess we'll just have to wait it out (: |

Oh, I liked the 30 second clip of Medicate. But it does sound like it's going to be a really good album. |
