Posts: 639 | August 21st, 2007 at 05:24pm My Chem introduced me to a lot of new bands. Bands that I love but not as much as MCR of course. They also introduced me to coffee.. especially Starbucks. I had had a Starbucks before but only ever had hot chocolate but then I discovered the vanilla latte and have been hooked ever since. The biggest thing that MCR introduced to me was me. I know it sounds corny but it's true. I wasn't ever trying to be myself before I discovered MCR. I was always trying to be someone else that everyone liked. It wasn't until I discovered My Chem that I realised that it was a lot better to be myself than someone I'm not. And if people don't like me for who I am and not for who I was trying to be, it didn't matter - it was their loss not mine. |

Through them I started listening to Taking Back Sunday, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Used, Pencey Prep, etc., etc. Of course, My Chem is still the greatest ever, but my fascination with rock music is thanks to them!! |

most importantly:
Myself. Since I first heard their songs, It just..umm..sunk in. I became more confident, and to not take the shit from others. I'm kind of an..um.. freak, and I got bullied a lot and felt like I just..well..you know. I heard their songs and I got my spirit back, and another song stuck in my head. they literally saved me.
Note: I was crying like hell with my headphones on listening to MCR when I was writing this post *sob* |
