I was actually quite surprised and taken by his vocals in 'Desert Song'. I remember the first time I listened to it and I was just--it was almost like listening to another Demolition Lover to me. It was raw, sometimes off pitch, other times beautifully vocalized, emotional, scratchy, but instead of turning me off, it made my stomach lurch, and made me tear a bit. Not from being sad though, but from supressed excitement. I dunno...I can't describe it.
And of course, Demolition Lovers, because it had the same affect, but Desert Song had less instrument and more vocals--so I could focus on his voice more. Sometimes it feels like he's right next to me, singing it. >_>
Ghost of You--the vocalizing at the very end was what made me decided to look for more My Chem songs. I slowly fell in love with his voice, and I wanted more of it.
I Never Told You What I Did For A Living - I remember telling my friend, "I dunno if I love this song yet, but damn, those vocals!" The way he sang it just tore at my insides. Of course, now it's my 3rd most played off of Revenge.
AND, I just love the litlte things that he adds to the songs.
In Jetset, "Aww, sugar" and the accent on "Hotel Bella Muerte", the tongue rolling on "House of Wolves", the intensifying "woah-ohs" in "The End", the crazed singing "Prison" ...I could go on. x_x
Oh yesss the tongue rolling in "Hotel Buela Muerte". Oh man I love that. I think Gerard sounds soo freakin' hot speaking spanish. mmhm lol.
Anyway I think he sounds realllly awesome singing I don't love you. and Cancer, that's a really touchy one. his vocals are incredible in those two. |

*Desert Song- oh my amazing.
*I Don't Love You- Still makes me hold me breath whe I hear it sometimes.
*Cancer- particularly live, one of my favourite performances of it is from the concert I went to, I feel so priviledged to have heard it in person. |
