I've been playing for 5 years now, and I just started playing the piccolo. For those of you who haven't tried piccolo yet, I highly suggest it. It's very loud and I enjoy bursting ear drums.
In contrast to that, I'd like to play bass flute...My band director has one, but it's on loan so he's a little afraid of letting me borrow it because apparently I "break everything I touch." -.-;;;
My favorite things to play would have to be Hanukkah songs. I'm not Jewish, but they're always so fun to play, and they're very challenging unlike Christmas songs which are generally all the same. This year we're playing The Eighth Candle which is very fast, and loud, and it's in 5/3 time so that makes it even more fun.
We get to play the Mars Theme by Gustav Holst for our spring concert, and this one piece called Mont-Blanc which is 7 pages long. They're difficult pieces, so we're practicing them now, but I'm excited to see how well we can play them.
Umm...that's it.

Posts: 10 | November 8th, 2007 at 08:39pm I wanted to start learning how to play flute this year and I even talked to a teacher but unfortunately she couldn't find me a flute, even for loan because flutes are hard to find  (if I don't want to buy a really expensive and not used instrument but since I'm not even a beginner yet, there's no point in that)
But there is still some hope that she'll find me one... |

AHHH GKJGFKDGJDG mars is like my favorite thing i've played so far in band. <3 i loooove it. hah. yeah, it's hard, but is REALLY cool when you put it together. 8D |

I finally got myself a flute! I'm so happy. I even got my first lesson today but I must say that it's really difficult to even get a decent sound out of it. But I'm sure I'll get the trick one day  |
