Hahah. Yeah, I laughed pretty hard when I read these parts in Everybody Hurts.
I love the pictures that go along with the entries. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 143 | August 12th, 2007 at 08:35am I loved how they said "Gerard Way" and "Pete Wentz" so much.
xD
and the bits about Panic! at the disco pretty much made me die... The whole book is too true.
and the goth emo thing pretty much got me dead-on. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 143 | August 12th, 2007 at 09:38am oh, and didn't they say something in the growing up emo quiz like "your not aging yet, so you can wear your plugs, raise your fists with pride and say 'I'm not okay, I promise"
Then they talked about 30stm opening for MCR under "Emo Television" and some show that I can't remember at the moment
Then under "What To Wear-Hot Topic" it said "Plus, more times than not, the Smiths or My Chemical Romance is blasting over the loudspeakers"
Wow. They said My Chemical Romance ALOT. o_O |

I have this book. I think it's hilarious. XD
A lot of my friends say it's 'degrading' and 'an insult'.
But I just think it's so TRUE. XD I'm guilty of nearly everything in there. Especially the 'raccoon eyes' bit.
We have to laugh at ourselves sometimes. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 13229 | August 13th, 2007 at 08:54pm I hope they mentioned real emo. Rites of Spring, Indian Summer, Gray Matter, Nation of Ulysses, etc.
I think they did, but went on to do this lame "third wave". There's no such thing as goth-emo. Goth evolved out of the post-punk movement and is ethereal and atmospheric. Emo evolved out of the hardcore scene and is fast, angry, and cathartic. THEY DON'T MIX.

They said in the book that Gerard practically invented "goth emo"
lawl.
I think it's BS. But... it's a book, a humour book, at that. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 23925 | August 14th, 2007 at 06:58pm Well I don't find it offensive. Because it's mostly true. I'm just not very amused.
Gerard was funnier when he said, ''I just got so emo I fell apart''
I haven't got the book, but from what I just read, it sounds like they're trying to hard to be funny.
Just my opinion. |

Well, don't you think you should resrve judgment until you've read it? That's like saying TBP is sold out without even listening to it. |
