I checked out what other bands Skip was in, because he's the coolest guy ever.  He was in this band called down in the park, played bass. it sorta reminds me of leathermouth, not too much though. too bad they broke up in 2006.skip's old band. not much meriwether news. :/ |

Motor Baby Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 863 | i blog?! random insight into the world of Meriwether. so yea, its been a long time since we've posted a random blog like this one, ya know, maybe we've never been this random w no real sense of purpose but anyways...so let me start out by thanking all of you Meriwether fans out there for allowing us to do what we do! without YOU, there would be no US; well maybe there would but wed just be playing music in a garage somewhere staring at one another and drinking jager or somethin...sooo, times have been sorta tough lately; gas prices are ridiculously high, our equipment is always breaking, our record keeps getting delayed...touring has somewhat taken a toll lately...its not that we dont enjoy rocking out for you guys bc WE DO! there is just a high level of stress involved wondering where we're going to be tomorrow, or if we're gonna even make it to tommorow...but alas, we are living the dream, right? lots of bands out there would die to be in our position!...but is it really all its cracked up to be? besides the things mentioned above, illegal downloading is destroying the music industry, well just making it that much harder to make a buck and keep up with the ever-inflating costs of touring.. and yeah i download stuff for free too so i should just shut up...and wow, ive never seen a business where so many people will work for free, i mean, will play for free...why is band A gonna pay us X dollars to open for them on tour when bands C, D, E and F are all willing to play for FREE?!!! (and yes, we have even paid to be on a tour - NOT telling which one)...well guys, this blog isnt really any bad news, im sure maybe some of you thought it was gonna be something like that, but no, its actually just a quick little vent...sometimes its better to let go a little bit... that said... WE WILL CONTINUE TO ROCK ON!! and we really really really hope to get this record in your hands very very soon (our label is still telling us radio single push in August and album release in October so keep your fingers crossed!) oh yeah, some of you may be experiencing a little confusion over the current touring lineup...hmmm, well maybe we've been withholding info, just a little, but i promise thats for a reason, and that will all present itself when the time is right! just know that all is well, there is no bad blood or drama, and in that regard, things are better than ever for all partys involved...for now i will say there are 6 members of Meriwether. (see band members section) again peoples, THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!, we love and need you more than ever!! ps..there are free downloads in the player, lots of music up here at myspace, over at purevolume and at virb.com....a few new tshirts over at the merch store, new tour dates being added daily, and lots of new vids up at youtube (definitely some weird stuff too, but be sure to check out our bud Sebastian rocking out with us in Knoxville!) well thats enough random blog for the day... maybe we'll start posting more often..hmm...maybe not  xoxo =MW= (nice weezer rip-off, huh?) ^ from their myspace blog. ...>_> they would probably make me pay for an interview. so...  I'm not gonna ask, just tell them I made a fansite, and that it needs some... ya know.. spice~. lol.they are trying to confuse us by adding more members. but i would LOVE it if Skip was an official member. |

I desperately wish I lived in Baton Rouge. Free tickets? D: damn it... but didn't the news cut the performance off? sucky. ooh... they play TWO songs. blake, their photography guy, took a video of it, but it's on myspace somewhere.. edit: lolz, i just noticed skip is wearing the same shirt as in my avatar.  |
