But I think it actually kind of depends on what you're making, too. :3
Yeah I think it does. I make mostly animals so I just sketch what I want them to looks like then, like, just make it. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 1512 | August 14th, 2008 at 08:01pm Okay, so you guys know Salad Fingers, right? Eh, so he's got his little friend Hubert Cumberdale. And love Hubert. So a while back I started to make a Plushie of him. I just recently finished it, but before I could get a picture of it I took it to Bree's house and she fell in love with it so it kinda belongs to her... But she did post this picture on her myspace.
It's not the best pic of Hubert, but I'm proud of him.
He's about a foot and a half tall, I'd say. Used permanent marker for his face. XD
Anddd... I think most of his body is made out of fleece. Then I stuffed him with shit I ripped out of an old pillow. But yeah, ain't he darling?

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 11747 | August 20th, 2008 at 12:36pm I have a duck that I made...But it fell apart recently. I stiched it so horible. The only thing I've sewed recently is a pillow. I'm waiting for my best friend to fnish the Latchhook picture of a Unicorn so I can sew it on it. ; D |

I was like "oh, this sucks."
What fabric did you use for it? When I use fleece it holds up much better than when I use cottony stuff.
I've never made a pillow, but I probably should, because my poor sewing machine hasn't been used forever. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 11747 | August 21st, 2008 at 09:41am I think it was Felt...So thats probubly why. THe pillow was just normal cotton fabric. All these things are hand stiched. I don't know how to use a sewing machine. |

What I do is:
1. fold piece of cloth in half
2. draw out line of shape
3. cut shape out
4. sew the two pieces together, but not completely, if that makes sense?
5. turn it inside out, stuff it, and then sew it shut.
6. add other stuff on, either sewing it on or using fabric glue.
you can use fabric paint too, or to make clothing, do steps 1-4.
Wow, these are awesome!!!! Thanks for posting the instructions I'm gonna try this out for myself then post it here! By the way what fabric will work best? I was thinking of using felt. Also what is the best thing to use to decorate it? Keep rocking those plushies!!! |

But felt would work fine, especially if you're just starting.
I use embroidery thread, buttons, and other pieces off fabric to decorate, myself. |

I never really look what kind of fabric it is, I just look at it and feel it, and if I like it I get it. |

Because the threading can become loose if you dont take it steady. |
