Mention the important bits (characters, themes etc) but don't give any details whatsoever, and finish with something like "these ideas will be further elaborated upon. |

Posts: 14066 | March 20th, 2009 at 04:49am ^ it would be a good idea, but all my friends are doing their own projects for this, and although were given an option to be in groups, and i wanted to, no one wanted me because they know i'm awkward and shy and would probably get them marked down because of my awful public speaking skills.
and, i've done a group project before where we made a "movie" and the teacher hated it. she was "very disappointed in each and every one of us". 
thank you very much fo trying to help, though! 
in the book, i'm focusing on the "Mutants Gang", if anyone knows the book... 
i really don't know how i can involve multimedia without be typical.. |

Her mother died when she was ten days old, and four years later her father remarried a 'quick-tempered, quarrelsome woman'. At the time of publishing the book, she had had three children, one of which was born prematurely and died. She was struggling financially, attempting to heal a rift between her and her family, and coping with her husband Percy's many affairs. Both her half-sister and Percy's former wife had committed suicide (the latter when she found out that he had cheated on her with Mary (and she was pregnant at the time)).
It got worse, but this is when she was writing the novel, so the rest of her life wouldn't have influenced it. |

but basically, the amount of death and suffering she had experienced would've influenced what happened in the novel.
and also she would've been influenced by how her parents were radicals and 'against the grain',
so this influenced her to write about a controversial topic which would've clashed with religion,
and at the time people were very religious.
& she got the whole idea to write the novel because of a dream/vision she had about a man creating a hideous monster. |

Orientalism is the stereotype of a different culture than your own, oftentimes looking at that culture through a distorted lense.

The only thing I can think of in reference to it being centered around Eastern Hemisphere countries is that many Americans think of middle easterners as terrorists. |
