So I'm in IB Math Studies.I got these problems wrong and I keep getting the same answer when I try to do my corrections. I cannot figure out how to do these two problems.
Question 1:
Find the HCF, LCF, HCM and LCM for the numbers below:
24: 2x2x2x3
84: 2x2x3x7
60: 2x2x3x5
Question 2:
Simplify the following:
2/3 x 1 1/4 divided by 3/4x6
Help please?

Grade 10 Math.
How do you simplify the radicals (√3+5) (√6+6)
I don't quite understand how you work out all of the steps. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 9168 | September 24th, 2008 at 05:02pm ^ cross multiply.
As you would for a quadratic.
So, it becomes:
(√3+5) (√6+6)
= √3 x √6 + 6√3 +5√6 + 30
= 3√2 + 6√3 + 5√6 + 30
I'm pretty sure that's its simplest form.
Plane Crash Dreams:
1. (2/3 x 5/4) / (3/4 x6)
= (10/12) / (18/4)
= (10/12) x (4/18 )
= 40/216
= 5 / 27.
2. (2/3) x 7
= 14/3
4 and 2/3.

That is right, but it's not called cross multiplying, it's the distributive property. |

As long as she understood what I meant, it's fine.
I'm pretty sure we got taught it was called cross multiplying anyways =/?
Ahh well :]

The Visible Emission Spectra.
Does anyone know why different chlorides of elements change the colours of the flames?
I know it's got something to do with the electrons changing energy levels, and gives off radiation as visible light as they lose that energy. But can someone like explain that to me? |

Well, all I've been taught so far is that the radiation comes from the electrons that go from the excited state [high state of energy] to the ground state [low state of energy]. |

I´d write like this; "J'aime toujours faire de nouveaux amis"
What you wrote means, " I always like to make new girlfriends" I think.
Anyone, please remediate if you know better! :]
