i dont think that there will ever be complete world peace... beacuse no one realy ever gets along and there will always be problems with power and such... if the world went to complete peace i would pay all of you a million dollars... that is how much faith i have in people getting along. it not that i dont think that people cant get along but... can any one picture complete peace?

mindfuck:
It all boils down to the fact that the idea of peace is just that; an idea. And any idea is always going to have it's oppositions.
Its a sad day when people can hold an opposition to true and complete happiness. Thats why I dno't believe its a real oppositon, people are really opposing themselves then they are of peace. We all just need to learn to be less afraid and know ourselves more.

mindfuck:
people who are pro-war are always going to oppose those that are anti-war.
I want to make apsolutly clear I am not and never will be "Anti-War" but only Pro-Peace. These two terms are not synomomus, one focuses all energy on the problem, and the other the solution. Being anti-war I believe only contiues war in the end. Being Pro-Peace only adds to peace, it offers nothing to war, and it strenghens the idea of a warless world, for war is not mentioned in the definition. I understand you didn't mean anything by it mindfuck, I just wanted to clarify this now.

Oh Miguel, are you really that busy as to not responed to anything I have said? I continuiously find myself with the feeling that you are unable to respond whenever I have made a point. Throughout this discusion I have only comended your well given arguements and tried my best to answer them, you on the other hand, at times, have done the opposite. Why this could be true I can only speculate, but it is possible you are are not capable of changing your opinon, or fighting for one even when it seams lost. If this is the case, please realize this for yourself and let me know. As I do not need to waste my time talking to some one who is unable to form a rebuttle.

I can say exactly the same thing about living in peace. Only then our "duty"is becasue of our citizenship to planet earth, not man-made borders. ~ Rex

I don't think there's ever gonne be world peace. Sometimes it's not about hate, or whatever, but strictly business. Look at the USA... they might have invaded because of terrorism, but it's only about the oil these days. It's business.

Before we have world peace, i think it is necessary to end world hunger and poverty.
I also think that before we can have peace on a world wide level, every person needs to be at peace with themselves.

^I agree. How can we have world peace if we cannot be peaceful on a smaller scale?

Very true, I'm glad you can see this. Please do not be discouraged by this fact, do not worry about the masses of people. If you realize that people must be at peace with themselves first, all you have to do is to become at peace yourself.

Yet I think your reasoning is a bit backwards; we end world hunger and poverty through peace, there is no way to peace; peace is the way. There is no way we could ever try to tackle such large worldly problems, if we are still fearful and resort to violence everyday, it is to consuming not to mention expensive.

World Peace. It's just not going to happen. I'm sorry, but it's just not. I would love it to as much as anyone else would but it's just not possible. Conflict is part of the human nature. Everyone has different opinions. Different opinions lead to conflict. World peace would involve everyone having the same opinions (to a degree) and that wouldn't happen. And if it was, what would it be like? Everyone would be of the same religion (or without any religion) etc. Is it just me or would world peace silence all individuals? Don't delve to much into that last point, I guess it might not make much sense. But a world without individuals is a world I don't really want to live in..
Basically, I live my life in as peaceful a way as possible. I try to be nice to everyone, help out, things like that. I work towards world peace, though I know it won't happen. It's something you want, but you know you'll never have. Like 90% of the fanbase and Gerard's hand in marriage. Razz It's a nice thought, but a pure fantasy.

Yes, we end poverty and hunger through peace, but there cannot be total world peace until those two things are gone.

Yes,world peace is totally and completely possible. It will happen. When Jesus comes back there will be peace restored again. I know there's a lot of you who don't believe in that...but I seriously don't know why not?

You think it's all a lie and people are trying to fool you? Fool you into what exactly? I'm not going to rant or anything. lol

But yeah...God gave us free will...it sucks that so many people have chosen it as to go into war and etc.

And if I'm not mistaken; wasn't that printed in The Bible oh so long ago?

There will be peace. Much love and peace lol.

I do think that world peace is possible. I guess that the only person who could really answer this question, would be someone who knows how humans have been and how they always will be. There is a vast difference that many people cannot and will not comprehend.
Peace is a desire, war is a fact; and history has never paid heed to human desires and ideals.

Sadly, there will never be world peace, because war is so much more profitable.

I think world peace just isn't going to happen because organisms are meant to compete and fight. If they weren't, defensive and offensive instincts would have never evolved. We'd all be self-sustaining and independent of each other. Face it, it's not just humans that fight. Everything on earth does. So it would seem that it's impossible for the earth itself to be at peace.

^^ i totally agree with you. and plus, i believe everything happens for a reason so there is a reason for every fight/war/murder. i still dont think its right, but its just the way thing are.
