Fireplug. Salute You in Your Grave Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 4635 | I agree. Yeah! 'Cause the 'seance' part and the 'walks among the famous living dead.' Maybe the patient is just figuring out his new life as a dead guy and stuff. He's walking around the world as a ghost and just watching life and people pass him by. *shrug* |
Megan Vegantoast Bleeding on the Floor Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 1173 | Personally.......... I htink this song is about the patient finally realizing that he is dying... like the reality finally hit him. In return, he starts to separate himself from reality and his family causing him to kinda "live in his head" The stuff about seances and the living dead may be abnout how he felt when he was living in hiss head. He felt dead inside. |
live.love.burn.die Killjoy Age: 32 Gender: Male Posts: 93 | "This Is How I Disappear" follows "Dead!", where the Patient has recently discovered that he is ill, and has a very short time to live. The Patient is in a very scared state of mind. He addresses an unknown person (most likely his lover), telling her that she's virtually all he has, hence the lyric, "and without you is how I disappear, and live my life alone forever now." He is also reflecting on how little people care for him, and how she is the only person who does care for him, hence without her, he is quickly forgotten and disregarded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_How_I_Disappear |
Chemical Bride Killjoy Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 33 | This is probably one of my favorite songs from the CD. And reading over what you guys said makes a lot of sense to me. Probably my favorite lyric is "And if you could talk to me, Tell me if it so. That all the good girls go to heaven." (I'm thinking Patien's lover is dying..or something and he's wondering if the good girls like her will go to heaven) Um thanks what I think anyways. Hehe. |
Mad World. Shotgun Sinner Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 9672 | ^this makes a lot of sense to me. I read someplace, could have even been on a thread here on INO, that famous last words is open to inerpretation about if the patient is really dying or not, or if maybe his lover is dying (i believe that thought came directly from Gerard), so if how i disappear mentions his lover dying, that would fit |
Seven_illusions Killjoy Age: 34 Gender: Male Posts: 5 | Go! To unexplain the unforgivable, Drain all the blood and give the kids a show. By streetlight this dark night, A seance down below. There's things that I have done, you never, Should ever know. And without you is how I disappear, And live my life alone forever now. And without you is how I disappear, And live my life alone forever now. Who walks among the famous living dead, Drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed. And if you could talk to me, Tell me if it's so, That all good girls go to heaven. Well, heaven knows, That without you is how I disappear. And live my life alone forever now. And without you is how I disappear, And live my life alone forever now. Can you hear me cry out to you? Words I thought I'd choke on figure out. I'm really not so with you any more. I'm just a ghost, so I can't hurt you anymore, So I can't hurt you anymore. And now You wanna see how far down I can sink? Let me out! So you can Well now so you can I'm so far away from you Well now so you can And without you is how I disappear, And without you is how I disappear, Forever Forever now |

Total Phreek Thinking Happy Thoughts Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 448 | I found the song was about a man who has died and lives in this house and when he loved one (his wife or whoever) comes to the house he can be seen by the living but as soon as she is gone he is still there but no one can see him - "And without you is how I disappear". I also think that before this man died he has a fight with his wife and when she comes to this house he is just trying to say sorry because then he thinks he will be able to pass on to the other side: "Can you hear me cry out to you? Words I thought I'd choke on figure out. I'm really not so with you any more. I'm just a ghost, so I can't hurt you anymore, So I can't hurt you anymore." Well, thats what i think anyway ^^ |

HayleeHavok__XO Killjoy Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 47 | I deffently think this song is told by The Woman who is in love with The Patient, who may have been the only one to give her attention, and how with out him she will be alone and misrible. She then becomes mentaly instable and asks him tell her if "All Good Girls go to heaven" and her instablity causes her to see his ghost who tells her "I'm really not so with you anymore/I'm just a ghost/So I can't hurt you anymore" At the end of the song she may have regained some sainty and realizes that she will be alone forever now that her love is dead. |
zombie jamboree. Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2723 | Seven_illusions: So do I. I thought it might be The Patient's lover/ friend talking to him at his bedside. |
HarlequinFirith Always Born a Crime Age: 40 Gender: Female Posts: 5146 | I actually think this is kind of a love song... it's some guy telling his gf that without her he can't go on... But there's more: he says he's a ghost, so he can't hurt her. And without her is how he disappears. So it makes me think that the song is for an old gf which he loved very much but he hurted her and scared her away. So he's by himself, dying... alone... Still, I have another interpretation. If we listen to the song by itself it matches with the fact that SHE is the one who's dead and he's singing to her that whouth her he can't go on and he hopes she's in Heaven adn now he can't hurt her (cause somehow he know he did) and from now on he'll have to live alone. Just my thoughts! I love this song!!! it was my msn nickname for a while!! |

MCR-is-saving-mylife Killjoy Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 13 | i think its about the patient knowing he doesnt have much longer to live and wants to tell his girlfriend that he loves her before he actually goes, and that he doesnt want to her hurt like in the song where it says "im a ghost so i cant hurt you anymore" |
Bert McCookies Fabulous Killjoy Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 106 | i thinnk its the woman he loved finding out that he died and is relly upset and is trying to bring him back to talk to him-"By streetlight this dark night, A seance down below." with out him she is alone and she wants to ask him about what heavens like and if she will get in-"And if you could talk to me, Tell me if it's so, That all good girls go to heaven." he comes back and as a ghost and they fight about he used to hurt her- "I'm just a ghost, so I can't hurt you anymore," its wierd and retarded(is that right?) and its probley wrong but who gives a crap |
chemical girl Killjoy Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1 | I think that he is sad because he can't contact his loved ones but that end of the song:"you wanna how down I can sink..." and all that stuff....it's weird...well....we'll see... btw-sorry if any of my words isn't right-I don't speak english very well... |
Peaceypoo. Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2712 | I get the feeling That he(the patient) remembers maybe a betray...That there's someone who betrades him, and he get upset and then he/she gets mad at him for BEEING mad..and he wants to say he's sorry, but the he dies....So he can't.. Maybe it's stupid but it's just a thought... |
X-x-WithTheVampires Salute You in Your Grave Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 3262 | this song is about your reaction to loss. like after you lose someone and you had a famous pastime w/ this person you wont want to do the past time anymore. Or you can take a different reaction to the loss of a loved one, like the lyric "drain all the blood, and give the kids a show" is talking about all the times you hurt yourself because of your great loss. which is a very deep line, this song has many meanings and this is just my look on it. |
